Apparently the bobbins can fit 5000 into their smelly hovel. They’ll have about 5-600 fans max (it doesn’t help them that we’re also at home). It won’t be all ticket.

Btw if you have issues with the view behind the goal at Sutton you’re going to love the views behind the goal at Coldsore Avenue. 1 step terraces. The side terrace is decent although a decent sized crowd restricts the view somewhat

The side terrace at Carshalton is great, fairly steep and with decent views.

I guess the matchday fixtures go in here rather than a separate thread for each round?

As expected the Potters Bar v Barnet derby is the live game at 12:30pm, a little suprised by the evening showing but hey ho.
Notts have a local derby themselves as we take on Belper Town who look to be bringing roughly 1,000 fans. I imagine one or two of the Notts starting lineup will be rested but we should have more than adequate cover as the support squad is decent in depth.

Would expect some of the players coming back from injury/suspension to get a start - Kelly-Evans, Doyle and Tyson definitely, plus McCrory if he’s fit. Osborne and Thomas will probably come in too.

We should have enough at home.

Harrogant to beat us, to get a bye into the 2nd Round, and then Leeds United to be demoted to the 2nd Round on account of being awful, only to be drawn at home to Harrogant.

You heard it here first.

Any Brackley fans making the trip up?

We can’t afford to slip up, 3-0 win away at Aldershot has everyone’s pecker up again, a defeat at home to regional opposition would bring us all right back down to earth.

3 times running we've drawn a Conference club in the 4th Qualifying road - Dagenham had us easy 3 years ago, Sutton last year we should have beaten but threw it away in true calamitous Wealdstone fashion and now Maidenhead on Saturday.

Most of our supporters are familiar with the majority of their side, if anything this will give us an indication as to whether or not our side would be good enough to compete at the level above.

Bowers & Pitsea v Chichester - Bowers with an amazing chance to make the 1st round. This is already their best ever run in the FA Cup.
Of course I await them drawing Southend in round 1 and then being the TV game. Thing is it would not even be a slight surprise if they beat us, I'd make them firm favourites.

This is the round when even life long supporters of National league teams come across teams they have never heard of before and then hope they don't get embarrassed by them in this round or the next;- I mean be honest, how many Northern fans here have heard of Bowers & Pitsea or Maldon & Tiptree, not many I bet - and even less would be thrilled with an away match and possible loss to them in round 1.

The joy in it is seeing these unknown sides taking on Plymouth Argyle or Crewe, and it's only right that the draw is regionalised at this stage. Defo too many southern leagues around though.

Couldn't point to most of those on a map, even after many years watching non-league football, although Tiptree's where you get the best jam and funny as it sounds, I cycled past the factory on the way to Bible Camp a few times as a kid.

Bible camp... i'm guessing watching Halifax over the years has cured your belief in a god - or at least a footballing one ;)

Billericay look to be trimming their squad since Tamplin left (Matt Rhead being the latest to leave) but with our awful form it’ll be hard to see how this could be a positive result

Please beat them. I couldn't face losing to them for a 3rd time in recent memory. Having said that, we didn't exactly breeze past your lot last year either.

Having SMASHED a dreadful Solihull once already this season, and on an 8-game winning streak, you'd have to imagine we're firm favourites - which obviously means defeat.

I don't think we have what it takes to maintain a title challenge all season, but play-offs is a realistic aim. In that respect, is it better to go far in the cup and keep up the positivity, or bow out and concentrate on the league?

They've signed 2 loan strikers since and should have McCallum back too, but if we can dictate midfield again there's no reason we can't win.
As for the league - we can keep the challenge up all season - but let everyone else think we can't - the longer the rest of the league ignores our chances the better.

Just noticed Chesterfield are playing Wrexham (again)....
lose that and Wrexham's season will be over apart from fighting relegation (and the tin pot Scottish Cup thingy......)

Colne Dynamos might have been the 1st 'Billericay'
https://www.wsc.co.uk/the-archive/101-Non-League/4366-the-colne-dynamoes-debacle

1 paragraph sums up most of it

As football crash-and-burn stories go, it’s hard to beat the implosion of Colne Dynamoes nearly 20 years ago. In the late 1980s, the Dynamoes – bankrolled by millionaire chairman-manager Graham White – charged through the non-League pyramid on a budget to make some Football League clubs jealous. And then, in August 1990, having been denied promotion to the Conference because their ground wasn’t up to standard, they folded overnight.

Was moved to make the ol' "Nope, it was the fourth trip to Barra that knocked it on the head" jape, but I'm a fan of the underdog.

Either Wukky vs. Runcorn Linnets or your game vs. Solihoof to look forrad to this weekend. Which do you recommend? Hit me up if you fancy breaking bread at Holker St.

I'm in Cheshire for 2 weeks looking after my mum who had a heart bypass op 5 weeks ago (she's doing well) so will actually miss this one. Runcorn actually knocked us out of either the cup or the trophy a few years ago so are not a bad side and Wukkie are doing well in the league so that should be a good match. Barrow v Solihoof should too - particularly if you like watching games in driving rain and high winds. If you choose the Barrow match hit up Monkey tennis as i'm sure he'll be there. Where in Cumbria did you move to by the way?
