Yeah went to the 3rd qual round win over Morpeth too. Kings Lynn were terrible, Nantwich has 2 cleared off the line, hit the post and crossbar missed 2 1 on 1s, they murdered them.

Kings Lynn didn’t have a shot on target from what I remember
God that makes me more infuriated at our result now!

Carshalton probably just about deserved to beat Dagenham & Redbridge today, though mainly by virtue of the fact that D&R dominated possession but didn't really produce many meaningful chances and never really looked like scoring. They didn't seem all that bothered either, or at least not as much as Carshalton were.

Dominated a snidey Solihull team for the second time in as many months, but our finishing is the main reason we're out of the cup. We're one of the top scorers this season in the league, but every match you come away thinking we should have had two or three more goals. Beaten by a goal from a corner, but that happens- on the whole it was a good performance, but nothing to show for it.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Poor Bromley tried really hard to lose today, but shots were unable to take advantage of an off-day for the home side. This is the worst Aldershot team that I have ever seen, relative to their level. When Chislett inevitably moves on ,in January, I shudder to think of what we will be watching.

Maidenhead 1-1 Wealdstone

You can see why Wealdstone are well clear at the top of the NL South. Good footballing side with plenty of quality. Unlike us they'd be doing fine if they were in NL.

We lined up with our usual nonsensical, winger-free 4-3-3, including Jake Cassidy on the wing (FFS) and it was as dour as you might expect. All we have is set pieces and crosses, Wealdstone bossed the game and we were lucky to get an equaliser.

Amazed that no signings have been made since the start of the season - can't see us taking the win in the replay on Tuesday night as there's barely any quality in the squad or depth to rotate players.

We made what should have been an extremely comfortable win a much closer affair with our usual stupid defensive mistakes. Don't think Boreham Wood had a single attempt on goal other than the ridiculous penalty we handed them.

I find it very strange that the Haringey keeper was punching the air and celebrating after the game was called off. He and some of his teammates were dancing around with their fans in the stand.

He does look very happy with himself for someone who’s just allegedly been racially abused. A few things don’t seem to be adding up, there’s a quote from their manager saying, “early into the 2nd half, we got a corner and a couple of our players said there was monkey chants” they were attacking the home end in the 2nd half.

Our home form is abysmal recently. Add that to Harrogate being a bogey side at the Shay it was obvious what was coming. Quite worrying how poor we look without a few key players missing.

I totally condemn any racial abuse as it's completely abhorrent, but it's difficult to say especially at this level whether it definitely happened with a lack of CCTV, TV coverage etc etc... it's one word against the other.

We had a similar situation about 5/6 years ago in the cup where a player had claimed he'd been racially abused which as far as I'm aware (feel free to correct me) was never 100% proven, yet as a previous poster says ourselves as a club were hung, drawn and quartered in some sections of the national press. I'm fairly certain I could speak for any club that anyone found guilty of such abuse are not genuine fans and would never be accepted as part of their fanbase.

It's a very difficult and potentially damaging scenario for those potentially involved unfortunately. As for a way forward in terms of the tie itself, it's another difficult decision.

Like you say, I think it will be very hard to prove. There’s no doubting some of our “fans” behaved appallingly and bottles were thrown onto the pitch. This is bad enough let alone anything else that may have happened. I think the FA will want to make a stance against someone and I think there’s a good chance we will be kicked out. It does potentially set a dangerous precedent, if they are winning or even if the penalty is saved, are they walking off then?

There were two instances I can remember: Josh Ginnelly for Altrincham claiming someone said something racist to him, but nobody in the crowd ever admitted to hearing the remark. Probably the worst though (and I think it's the one you are referring to) was when the Macclesfield defender claimed there was "racist chanting" when in fact everyone was just booing him for acting like a knob. Then we turned up at Macc for the replay and they had the EDL banners out...

In this Yeovil case, where the damage is done (just mentioned on MOTD as being on the sports page of the Times), it's hard to believe that the team would walk off unless a few players witnessed it.

Very harsh result for Brackley that, they were streets ahead of our lot who didn’t look arsed, flukey deflected goal winning it.
Story of our last few seasons - move the ball well, create chances, rarely outplayed in any game... but don't take our chances and lack the mentality / methodology to win close games. That's why we keep ending up in the league playoffs and then losing. Can't see us going up this year or anytime soon... Frustrating when, despite being PT with a small squad, I think we could do okay in the Nat League... but don't think we'll ever get there to find out. Good luck to Hartlepool.

Josh Smile I thought was superb for Maidenhead, he was the one dictating play for the home side, tenacious in the tackle and on occasion stretched our back line with clever runs. Alan Massey also as we know first hand is still a top centre half at this level.

I won't disagree too much with the above, thought we had the better of the play and Connor Stevens will be kicking himself for heading over when free in the 6 yard box. Given the joy the hosts were getting when going more direct within the last 20 minutes, I'll be amazed if they don't try that from minute 1 on Tuesday night.

One noticeable thing almost straight away was how much quicker Maidenhead were to close the ball down compared to what we see weekly in the South, it took our midfield trio (Clifford, Green and Phillips) a good 20 minutes or so to acclimatise to this but afterwards they were all superb.

It's a tricky one when it's one word against another and naturally the teams are going to support their player but ofcouse there is no excuse for such abuse .

Or throwing objects and spitting at players for that matter .

I've been to Yeovil and it never struck me as a hostile place to visit, fans mingled at the bus stops and in the town after no problem, nothing like racist chanting at the match and we had our share of black players.
The racism will be almost impossible to prove but I think if there's footage or a statement from police / stewards of bottles being thrown onto the pitch the F.A. will be pretty harsh on Yeovil. After the Bulgaria hoo-ha they'll be all over it and abandoned games is something that the authorities will do almost anything to avoid.
Feel for Yeovil , decent club, day of mourning for a super fan and this blows up from nowhere and they're today's national villains.

You played some decent stuff and your midfield was everything ours wasn’t, quick movement with the ball, some slick passing, breaking up the pitch quickly, just a little bit more composure in front of goal and you earn yourselves at least a deserved replay.

Sorry I'm late to the party guys, busy night last night. Well, is there trouble in Paradise? Is the honeymoon over? When will we hear the first cuckoo cry of "Wild Out!" (It won't be long if i know my wanky fellow Shaymen :fl:). Quite a decent turnout from the North Yorkies, for their cup final, too.

Time to push on for the Title. :ds:

I think their goal scorer said as much as how they could beat us in the replay In the post match interview. Play long as we were vulnerable at set pieces. Maidenhead were pretty one dimensional and lacked pace but were solid at the back. Thought the keeper was excellent as well. Can’t but help thinking that we have lost our chance, especially if the draw pulls out a plum tie.

Back in the day, at the old Huish, it was the most hostile place to go in non league football. The bar wholly unwelcoming especially someone of colour, songs being sung etc and then inside the stadium always the threat of violence with regular money chants and bananas being chucked on the pitch. One Trophy game, which we lost 4-3, having been three nil up, was particularly awful. We missed a glorious chance in the last minute to equalise. Never been happier.

Can't say if it happened or not, but it's going to get to the point where if a black player is booed it'll be classed as racist chanting, media are absolutely loving to jump on anything at the minute.

Like with Sterling at Chelsea. Sterling never confirmed he was racially abused (rather than just abused) but the media just reported as if he was. It was never proven either.

I would have you down as favourites again. We aren't actually particularly good from set pieces for a team that has no pace. 90% of our crosses and set pieces were straight at your keeper (and are in most games). Should be a good game on Tuesday but I would expect the balance of play to be the same.

Think that is actually what happened on Monday in Bulgaria- first then was booing then it turned nasty and we saw all the footage of their fans doing salutes etc .

Ofcouse there no excuse for any of that and it does need to be prevented /sorted out.

People should be outed for it and shamed if there is clear evidence .

Same for spitting and throwing objects .

Chelsea banned the fan accused of racism against Sterling but he was criminal punished .

It's somewhat disgusting to see the lengths some people are going to in attempts to justify an incident of (alleged) racism, and just act as proof of how much of a problem we still have with racism in this country; the comments about the players only walking off because they were losing or about the keeper supposedly celebrating after walking off are particularly abhorrent and disappointing.

There's no point harping on about the incidents in Bulgaria in midweek if we then go to all sorts of lengths to justify racism in our own country; you can say that's not what you're doing with comments like those I've referenced, but that is exactly what those comments are doing regardless of your intent.

Obviously, we need the facts to fully emerge first, but it is concerning that people are so determined to dismiss any incidents of racism and look for other causes; trying to sweep the issue under the rug is seriously problematic.

It's not about dismissing I just go with facts and evidence, rather than the media's constant moral outrage to get clicks on websites and newspapers sold. If it's true then the harshest punishments should be enforced, but the whole guilty before the facts come out is something I can't get on board with.

I fully appreciate the concept of innocent before proven guilty, but people seem so eager to scrutinise incidents of racism and accuse the supposed victims (as we are still on allegations here for the time being) of "playing the race card" and I find that concerning, particularly when the same people often completely disregard the concept of innocent before proven guilty in relation to allegations of crimes such as sexual assault.
