An expected draw away at Shrewsbury last night. Dire game, thought we shaded the first hour or so but the home side could easily have won it at the death with two great openings. Looked like two sides short of firepower to me.

Can't understand why Pringle isn't getting a look in at the moment. Olly Lee hasn't added much since signing, yet is ahead of Pringle in the queue seemingly. Evans seems reticent to play them together but I think it'd work - Ndjoli, Hanlan and Jakubiak are all far too similar to play in a pair up front, yet 2 of them start every week. I'd stick with just one of them (probably Hanlan), and put Lee + Pringle playing just off him. A midfield 3 of O'Keefe, Jones and Byrne and that's a pretty good formation for what we've got.

Watched on Ifollow and want my £10 back. A complete snoozefest, much like the game at Lincoln last Friday. We are solid at the back but SOOOO boring and unadventurous. Gillingham should have been there for the taking and looked completely toothless up front (some good midfield play tbf and Charles-Cook looked the best player on the pitch for the first hour) but we are set up so defensively/negatively with effectively 5 at the back (wing backs not getting forward!) and then 2 defensively minded CMs.

The natives are starting to get restless with Rickett's tactics, as we undoubtedly have some good players than can play a more attacking game.

Just hope we don't concede early against the Mackems on saturday....

Didn't go (working tonight) but reports from our forum suggest we could have had at least a couple more, with 2-0 being flattering to a fairly inept MK.

Oxford on Saturday. Good team, but we're on a small, cheap-aisle-at-Asda, roll at the moment, coinciding with our defence containing defenders again...

Why didn't you tell me that Joe Rafferty is the greatest left back in the world?

Also, saw Josh Earl played centre back last night for Bolton, good to see him back, always thought his future lies in the centre.

We are pretty toothless, mainly because all our strikers want to play in the same areas and negate each other. Not sure they share a brain cell between them either - certainly not footballing ones! Hanlan is quicker than any defender in this league, he should be playing on the shoulder, he should be going past the last defender as the ball is played his way. Instead, any half-decent ball round the back or over the top always has the defender given half a chance because Brandon NEVER reacts quickly enough to get on the end of it - he doesn't have a killer instinct, and while I'm sure people will tell me he's young and learning, he's also our main striker this season and should've learnt by now that his one key attribute is pace. Bloody use it! As for the other strikers, Jakubiak is ok but likes to try and take on 3 or 4 when we have men in space, and Ndjoli is an absolute waste of a shirt. Mandron is the only other option we have and he isn't a goalscorer either really.

We'll both be mid-table this season as we're both 6/10 sides, and will probably have another dull draw at Priestfield later in the campaign.

Was at Tottenham v Red Star Belgrade (thought I'd canvass opinion on our new manager) keeping an eye, got a text at 3-1 down saying we'd be lucky to get away with letting in 6!
Heaviest home defeat in the history of the football club, kinda sorry I missed it.
Good luck Sol.

What's going on at Southend? Financial problems?

2 years of shocking recruitment. There definitely was financial issues but recently we cleared a shed load of debt and Ron Martin has been on talksport this morning saying we will be in the new stadium Aug 21 and we can expect an update first week of November. How he has the front to tell such lies on National Radio is pure class..

For once, no!
The biggest problem is the splits in the playing squad, it's the worst I've ever seen at the club and I don't think it's down to just bad recruitment.
Right now these guys don't want to play alongside each other. Sol Campbell is an interesting appointment as I fully believe we stayed up because of Harry Redknapp, who was clearly giving team talks at the games at the end of last season.
Whether this lot are willing to give Campbell the same time they gave Redknapp, who know's but if they don't they'll add another name to the list they've forced out by basically stopping playing. Powell, Bond, Waddock and to some extent even Phil Brown, that's how long this has been going on.

If we had the funds to clear out our team come January and start again right now, including the youngsters the only players I'd keep are Hopper, Bwomono, Barratt and Gard. That shows you how many bad apples we have.

How's Ethan Hamilton been playing for you? We had him on loan last season, and he was excellent. It was hoped we would get him back, but for whatever reason (financial or personal) he chose Southend.

We also had Sam Hart on loan here and again, he was excellent, until a rumoured bust up with Hilly, and he was sent back to Blackburn. Again, I'd have him back at Dale in a heartbeat.

Poor at the start to be honest but at Milton Keynes he played well and since has certainly been one of our better more consistent performers, then gets sent off after 5 mins! What was his role at Rochdale because I'd like to see him get forward more for us. After how he played for Dale last season I was excited about him as a signing but so far he's underwhelmed.

Hart was ok for us but should be playing as a left winger I think, his crossing ability was phenomenal. Seems to be in a modern mould of a full back that is great going forward but dodgy as fuck defending. Would certainly suit a team playing wing backs who could cover for him.

Not sure whether there's a law I'm unaware of after a shot has hit the post but Rotherham's first tonight is miles offside.

If you want to see a bad decision, check Fleetwood's goal tonight. The most obvious offside I have seen for a few years.

Glad we turned it around. Robins finally making tactical changes.

Hamilton played an attacking midfield role, but he was pretty much a box to box player. Always willing to shoot, and scored a couple of goals. Certainly not afraid of a tackle...leading to plenty of bookings.

Hart was much better offensively than defensively, but had the pace, build and crossing ability to do really well.

Easy mistake to make given our home kits are practically the same.
However we never use the home kit in away games, a fact which annoys me greatly.
We have to use our white or purple away kits because of sponsorship deals.

I see Rovers lost at home to Bolton. They're in such a false position. Lower mid-table side at best.

Home to Bolton for us tomorrow, which is our final home game for 7(?) weeks!

No new injuries, just the ones who've been out for a while. Only real question mark is whether Appleton sticks with 4-4-2 or goes back to 4-2-3-1.

9.15am pitch inspection before Rovers v Donny. It would suit TRFC for the game to be called off given the number of absentees from the squad.

It has been tipping it down here all day and the rain will continue overnight, so the match will be off, regardless of conspiracy theories.

I thought we had it bad with 6 weeks without a home game. (Our game with Ipswich is during international break and hasn’t been called off yet)

November for us should have been Bury, then we got an away tie in the FA Cup and beginning of December it's Lincoln Xmas Market, which we're always away for so it's just how it's fallen rather than design.

Our game against Bolton called off. Apparently we had a game postponed for a waterlogged pitch back in 2000 or so but it's the first time I've known us to have one called off because of rain in my time watching Lincoln (since 2002). Very, very unusual.

Not sure whether that's a good or bad thing having to play them the other side of January!

Yep, 18th October to 14th December between home games!

Unless the FA Cup tie goes to a replay I suppose.
