Our play-off spot is out of hope more than anything else, it'll keep me sane for a little longer.

I’d take 17th now! Although finishing 20th position would mean survival with only 2 going down at the end of the season.

One of the promoted clubs always does better than you expect but dont know enough about them to know yet. York might need a season to develop but you never know.

I fancied the celtic to be 11-16th by the end of the season. Steady - but no mugs. Hard start, but I suspect we will be the top promoted side AND W Yorks top side. Bottom end- those suggested and Curzon & leamington.
At the top, it's hard to say as Ive only seen 1-2 in the cups, in the recent years.

I think this div is a lot stronger than when we went thru' it under Lee Sinnott. Most current occupants weren't members then, or even when we fell back into the div. There's more pro sides in it, and/or recent league teams - boston, Kiddy, York etc.

Don't see the blue army going down unless off-field issues cause problems.

I like what I've seen so far. I'm pretty optimistic about our chances i think we'll do well this coming season.

It seems as though Armstrong has recruited well, but I think 3rd is a little optimistic when our stated aim for the season is simply top half with hopefully a cup run for once.

We won't finish above Spendy either.

think York are the ones to beat for the title. Good squad put together and a very good manager. Spenny will push them most of the season but won’t quite make it.

For us, we’re much improved on last season. That league place will be dependant on getting Adam Campbell scoring, he’s been good in preseason great link up play, clever runs, but has been a bit of an assist king. If we get him in form Rivers, Holmes and Thompson will addd goals behind him and it might be enough for that final playoff place. Expect it to be tight with us, Boston and Telford for that final playoff place.

Bottom two, pretty unscientific but Gloucester struggled in the south last year and Kettering have had a bit of a summer of turmoil. Think you would have to keep a close eye on Bradford PA too, untested manager and a large turn over of players, often tends to go brilliantly or awfully.

Pretty much basing our overall position with Armstrong's summer recruitment compared to Wright's last season in which i think our aim was top half with the recruitment he brought into the club last summer. But we won't go their, lets just say that was a huge let down.

Perhaps maybe could be a little bit optimistic, but i think we could ruffle a few feathers in this league with the likes of Holmes and Rivers who were torturing Harrogate on more than one occasion.

We shall see with Spendy! Definitely agree on a cup run.

I wouldn't read too much into last season for us. Different team under Cook.

We went into the start of last season under Richards, now at Hereford, looking like we'd struggle in the South and I said so on the South thread. We lost several players (Ed Williams, Kieran Thomas, Robbie Cundy) and didn't replace them adequately. He went, Chris Todd came in and pissed off most of the squad and dumped half of them. We went on a record 15 game run without a win, dropping to the bottom and looked dead and buried. Thankfully he got the sack.

Mike Cook then came in, brought several players back including Fabien Robert on loan and we finished the last 3 months as one of the most inform sides in the divison, beating 2nd placed Woking away as part of it and barely conceding any goals.

Ed Williams was a cracking player for us but honestly he can't hold a candle to Fabien. The guy is unreal.

Regarding us, I think we’ve got a very strong squad. It’s silly how much strength in depth we have in some areas. Our third choice right back for example would walk in to a lot of teams first XI in this league.

However, we certainly don’t have the best XI, we lack that special player or two who can get you top. I don’t really like the system the managers seem insistent on playing either. Aim for us is to get in the play-offs and get home advantage.

Young Iwan Murray could be the difference for us this season, but not sure if our managers will give him his head.

Don't expect much from us, summer recruitment has been patchy and I can't see us remaining full-time after this season, so players may give up with a few matches to go.
