Four single match threads where created for the midweek games, while there was also an all-in-one match thread. The latter thread, covering 16 sides, got 261 replies which means an average of 16.31 per side. The four separate threads* saw a total of 156 replies. That's an average of 19.50 p/s.

19.50 > 16.31

Don't fix what ain't broke.

*Camb v Scunny, O's v Stags, Bradford v Boro and Cheltenham v Carlisle
Yes that's because the single ones are full of yours and F-I-R-T-H-Y's waffling mate.:lol::lol:

Have just seen this rather interesting infographic showing average posts per thread on that Twitter that all the boring stats people love:

Make of that what you will, but it clearly proves that one thread is better than loads of little ones.

All it does is prove there are more posts on average per thread, which is meaningless without a) specifying the number of actual threads created to gauge the actual activity and properly work out the average posts per match/club and b) the quality of said threads.

An uninteresting/not particularly relevant to your club thread with 100 posts <<< an interesting/relevant thread with 20 for most people.

From my own personal point of view I don’t read the single match threads

Ah it was a joke. No problem then. I thought you were trying to spark a serious debate or maybe even a referendum, on the merits of, or lack of, single match threads, using incomplete and misleading statistical proof to support your argument.

What even the Northampton ones?

Have you seen us play since Chris Wilder left? Hard even sitting through it let alone having to acknowledge how shit we are all over again

I don't get why people are so precious about their single threads.

Nobody has ever stopped people creating their own match threads, all the idea was for those games with few posts just have a one thread fits all. Whereas matches with lots of posters have their own thread.

This is what was meant to happen but the snowflakes that want their own thread seem to think we can't have a single thread and match threads! Tuesday worked well as Vanni says there was 5 threads with over 400 replies covering all games. If every match had its own thread there would be 12 threads with probably a lot less than 400 posts.

The argument is tiring if you want your own thread just make one and comment in there, if you don't or the opposition have no fans just use the main thread.

That doesn't sound like the type of thing I would do.

As an argument in favour of individual match threads, take a look through the Cheltenham v Carlisle thread and consider how much more you'd all moan about Carlisle fans' attitudes if that crap was in a single thread you all had to trail through to read about your own matches. I feel for the Cheltenham fans who had no choice.

Fortunately there's only a couple of us.

I prefer the big match threads personally, because it means I can keep abreast of the games without having to click in the individual ones. As Frealaf says though, if you want to create your own then so be it.

Didn’t realise how far away Colchester was and how bloody difficult it is to get to

Try getting there from here. On a Tuesday.

If you don’t have your own motorway junction you shouldn’t be allowed in the football league

Funny you should say that. If our move happens we'll pretty much literally be a motorway junction. Junction 13 Rovers.

2-1 up at HT.

Cruising at 2-0 then we have a goal disallowed just into injury time. Typically, Morecambe go up the other end and score to make things tight.

We will need a big second half performance as Morecambe will fancy getting back into this now.

Great game today for a neutral at our place - Two sides very good and creative in attack, but ropey as fuck at the back and defending in general. We've created more than enough chances today to get something from that game, Louis Dennis was again superb for us. Infact, some of the football we've played this season at times has been quite good, in places today I thought we was excellent going forward and we had chances to make it 3-1 as well.

Crawley will cause teams problems, they've found a few rough gems going forward and they will score goals and be entertaining to watch, but their defense was at times no existant which is why I'm still wondering how we lost today, Glenn Morris kept them in the game with numerous saves.

Unless we can improve our game management in keeping leads, we are going to have a frustrating season because we have the talent in our team to have a solid season.

We nearly fucked that up but Nicky Law scores as late winner yet again.

Pleasing to score 3 goals but to let Morecambe come back from 2-0 is a concern. Showed good character to get the three points so overall a very pleasing 3 points.

Hmm. We are not clicking yet. Strange when you win 3-0 every fan I spoke to was seriously unhappy about the ref’s performance. First game in the EFL, and for everyone else’s sake I hope his last.

The result probably flattered us a bit, but I will take that. Obviously, injuries are becoming an issue, losing two more today (Telford was just about to score and his hamstring went) and a sending off.

Thought that Walsall’s number 11 looked a handful. Have no idea how number 2 was still on the pitch at the end.

Bloody good result for Crawley at Orient. Especially as we had to come from behind twice to do it.

It seems we have been involved in more goals than any other league two side this season but as Terminator said a lot is how ropey we are at the back. McNerney being injured is part but I don't think our full backs get any protection in front of them which means lots of crosses and stuff from wide areas. Odd as we have an Italian manager. His compatriots will be having kittens.

After 5 games we’re the top scorers in division.
To put that into perspective we have the same amount of goals scored after 5 games this season as we did after 16 games of last season.
FEAR US!!! :bg:

Shite today our so called solid defence looked all over the place and we have nothing going forward can only hope for more signings of a decent calibre or we are struggling to challenge the top 10 this season.

The big general matchday threads are way better, de-clutters the forum and means you can read about every game without having to click through every one.
Not so.
Most supporters just want to read/comment on their own team's matches and don't want to wade through pages of other supporters talking about their team's games.

We should prehaps have a vote or something to see what the general consensus is
