Today was the 3rd time in 4 games we have been leading at half time and drawn. If we want to be fighting for playoffs/promotion we have to stop throwing points away. At some stage the top teams will go on a winning run and if we don't sort ourselves out we'll fall away quickly.

Sorry about that. We’re running away with it a bit aren’t we. :woo:

Chester are terrible, come to Prenton Park with a very basic game plan of 11 men behind the ball and roll over when any Tranmere player goes near them.

We are playing fairly well, but unfortunately wasteful from Norwood with some cracking saves from their keeper. A very intriguing moment where Norwood was brought down, red and penno for their keeper? No ref bottled it and gave Norwood a yellow for a dive.

Imagine Chester will play same way second half and hope they get a couple free kicks/corners.

What like Norwood?

What do you expect us to do ~ £2m vs £450k budgets.
Your problem is Norwood and Cook are finished. That game was tailor-made for James Alabi.

Think Chester will struggle to bring 750 myself. Wonder if the Chester crapper crackers will turn out and demolish the cowshed shithouse again!
Hope Chester's results improve after today, don't want to see our neighbours relegated.

0-0 in front of a subdued 5600.

Top of the league, no other games on... Today's the day we find out just how disinterested the people of Macc are in their local club. Though our home form/excitement level over 2017 is still crap.

Ebbsfleet not lost away yet, not going to be as easy as some of our fans expect; altitude sickness from being this high up must have got to their heads...

Well done Macclesfield. Seriously, but you owe us one for taking Halls ~ would easily make my worst ever Chester team. Also would have kept Durrell, who was released because he tried to tell McCarthy what was wrong. It's his legacy that we are likely to go down this season unless we can offload some of the shite he signed.

Couldn’t see the penalty incident clearly at the time, but there was definite contact with Norwood, although one arguably where he tries to draw that from your keeper. Couple of your fans on the train after felt it was a penalty.

Norwood had scored in both the previous games and did ok in this one, great save from his volley, one of many from your excellent keeper. Mellon doesn’t like Cook, he didn’t have much opportunity today, but there are still goals in him. I’d have liked to see Alabi given some game time, the rule about often scoring against a former club would be given a chance.

Our playing budget’s about £1.1 million, so rather less than the figure you suggest, though accepted significantly more than Chester’s.

It’s understandable why you set up for and will be happy with a point. Compared with the team that drew 2-2 last season, there seemed very little attacking threat though and that might be a concern in the months ahead.

Yeah thanks for the swap. Hodgkiss is a better player than Halls and a better leader too. We seem to be getting the best out of Durrell, our style suits him perfectly and he's been brilliant so far.

Harrison is winning me over, think he wants nice, free flowing football, but knows we're dire at the back so pick your harder working midfielders/forwards in there, limit the space and have faith in some of the good players we have at this level to stand up and deliver. It's not pretty, but now the priority is to make sure we do enough to climb the table. Later on, get the champagne football out if we're in or around the top Just get us up and around there and that's all we ask.

I'm really glad for Harrison cos he was receiving some pretty disgusting insults from the great unwashed over our terrible start to the season, some people were foaming at the mouth after five games wanting him sacked, he is a youngish manager in his first season in English football so there's going to be mistakes and crappy performances from time to time, he tried to get them playing tippy tappy footy, saw it wasn't working and changed it to his credit, like you say we're not playing especially well but we look a lot harder to beat, the players look like they're playing with heart, getting stuck in to meaty tackles and we're getting results, all we need now is to be more attack minded when playing at home, we've chucked some daft points away this season at The Vic.

Even the Carlisle fans on here wanted him sacked. Not obsessed with us in any way whatsoever :bg:

Norwood has been excellent recently, his misses yesterday notwithstanding. Cook is still a top player at this level but does not get on with the manager.

I think Alabi is better than what he has shown us so far, but doubt he is as good as either of those two.

Our home kit is Red, White and black, so what do Dagenham turn up in? Red, White and Blue :2thumb::2thumb:

That was a terrible kit clash - I'm surprised we didn't change in to our yellow kit.

Also.. the fact Tranmere have only scored 11 goals in 15 games suggests their problems may be do with their own team rather than Chester getting 10 behind the ball. Is there an updated league table since Mellon took over?

Nice to see Andy Halls has found his level , I really hope Chester are paying him on time , what with the winter coming and his worry about his heating bills ;)

Curiously 3 of them came against your team, so guessing you're poor at the back. You don’t want to loan out a striker do you, as our current 8 are misfiring...

Thanks for your fair comments Boz. The person that said your budget was £2m is an ex-Chester director. I'll let him know he's wrong. I think that's the first time Norwood has failed to score against us. The reason were like we are is that McCarthy was allowed to spend our biggest budget since we reformed and has constructed a most unbalanced squad. We've got some decent lads coming through and McCarthy wouldn't play them. He left Sam Hughes (in with us yesterday) out for the first 12 games last season and when he came in we conceded 1 goal in 9 games. He then played him at right for almost the rest of the season. The only other game he played at CH we won 1-0 at Southport. Hannah scored 26 goals for us 2 seasons ago, but I think that will be his last good season and McCarthy gave him a 2-year contract. I enjoyed our last season in the Conference North and will again.

Well were poor at the back at the beginning of the season but tightened up since conceding 3 to Barrow away. Only conceded 2 in our last 5 as well.

Would love to loan you a striker except we only have 1! (Plus one more on loan).

Doesn't seem to be a lot (anything) said about our game against Orient yesterday: a good game between two good footballing sides (yes, really), where I think we maybe shaded it - intrigued to see if Harrison was offside for his first half goal, because it looked wrongly disallowed to me.
Orient have good players, but defence and keeper are a little bit suspect. Our biggest issue is injuries at the moment, but we have the makings of a decent side. Still probably get relegated though.

Moment of the season was the Orient keeper getting dive-bombed by a seagull. Hope that makes the highlights.

Very much a case of 'job done' for us yesterday. We came for the point and generally looked solid enough.

I actually thought it was a funny game, in that it was relatively even in open play. Tranmere were just much better at turning their good spells into chances, something we failed miserably at. We were more than comfortable for large spells in the game, but it's undeniable that Lynch won us the point.

Bignot will get us going, he's impressed me so far. We've been left an unfit and unbalanced squad but there are little bits of quality within it. Yesterday will be big for our belief because when all is said and done, Tranmere's resources dwarf ours and a point is absolutely a good result at Prenton Park.

Andy Halls really needs to stay off social media... Got a bit of abuse from a Chester fan and I know what he's saying but he really shouldn't rise to it- especially if he's playing as poorly as Chester fans are saying.

What's the crack with Woking, then? Was Uncle Fester actually holding them back?

All well and good until the £99 season ticket money runs out next month. Hill never got as much backing as this, was just expected to work wonders. Last season seems to have dampened a lot of people's appreciation of him despite the fact he actually kept us up, imagine if we'd gone down.

This season.

Chester's budget DWARFS Wokings,

I heard from one of our famous supporters last Tuesday that Woking have gambled by taking out a big loan. I'll wait to see what Sparrow's response to that is.

A very good, young ex-Premier academy manager who is bringing good things to Kingfield. I can see FGR or Eastleigh poaching him before end of November.

The 'big loan' is the money we made from the £99 season tickets.
