What the hell was Joe Flacco doing there? Some awful decision making to attempt that throw.

Chargers 7-6, more wins than losses for the first time in about 400 years.

I'd also make it so not everyone makes the playoffs. 1-4 in the proper one, 5-8 in the consolation one. Last couple of weeks have been uninteresting for me coz I knew I'd be in the consolation. If I had to make 8th get in then there'd have been a bit more excitement to it.

And of course my QB goes from scoring 25 and 30 in the dead rubbers to -1 in the playoff game.

Nice comeback from Pittsburgh there. We needed the Ravens to lose.

It's the consolation bracket. Got a wildcard round in it so top two in both the Championship and the other one have a bye week. Just as well my team are on the bye week as not exactly a prolific score this week.

Jags looking incredibly good. Have to admit I'm more wary of them than the Steelers. Also say the same of the Chargers and Ravens. Them three defences are as good as you'll get.

The same Ravens defence that gave up over 500 yards passing last night?

They’re not good for my blood pressure but this Steelers Team is fun to watch.

Not the best timing for that. Can’t believe the Ravens tried to defend Antonio Brown by just sticking Brandon Carr on him all night with no help over the top. Not sure what their thinking was on that one.

Still sets up next week nicely I guess. Certainly enough holes in that Steelers Defence for Brady to exploit. Got to get the job done in Miami first tonight though.

Yeah Ravens are a flat track bully of a defence. Not in the same league as the Jags or the Vikings say

That's eight... eight... starting QBs done for the year. This has been an enjoyable season, but would have liked to see more teams at full strength heading into playoffs time. A real shame.

Though whether they make the playoffs is in question could possibly have Aaron Rodgers back hopefully this week I believe?

Very sad for Wentz, played incredibly well this year. To have it ended like that on a play that didn’t even count is just horrible.

Had a scan today, still awaiting results. Seeking multiple opinions according to MM which doesn't fill me with confidence, feel like if it was good news there wouldn't be that uncertainty and we'd know by now...but we'll see

One ugly performance from the Patriots tonight especially offensively. Can’t help thinking Brady is more hurt than he’s letting on. Dealt only in checkdowns nearly all night.

Edit - and Jay Cutler is actually looking good tonight which isn’t helping.

Not one single third down conversion tonight, deserve to lose when that happens. Never seen that before from Brady. At least can get Gronk back for the next one, was seriously missed.

Miami to their credit played very well. Massive contrast to their efforts at Foxborough a couple of weeks ago.

Great to see the Fish beat the Cheatriots at last. Suck on that Peter Griffin.

Bet Gronkowski feels like a right idiot, cos he was missed by their offense (Oh dear what a shame how sad)

If last night proved anything it's that Denver need to bring the old helmet logo back permanently. It's sexual on that dark blue.

Agreed. I hated the concept of these colour rush uniforms, but I begrudgingly admit that some of them look great. And yeah the nods to old proper uniforms ticks the box too.

At what point do the Broncos admit they're going to bring back Brock for 2018, as tbh he's looked the safest of the three they have at QB... Which isn't saying much.

Well, not quite yet....

Difficult to take too much pleasure out of this game, the Bengals are an absolute embarrassment.

Good to see the Bengals haven't downed tools since Lewis announced he won't be coming back.

Third down defence from the Pats has been horrific so far. Gilmore just slowing down assuming that pass to Bryant was just going to sail over him simply should not happen.

Hopefully AB is ok after that hit. Had too many injuries to great players this year.

In Gilmore's defence Martavis Bryant has just about dropped everything thrown his way this year. He'll likely get some help now with AB out of the game.

As for Artie Burns blowing another coverage...

Interesting concept putting Trey Flowers in coverage against Bell. Preferably not see that one again. He is such a brilliant route runner though, very hard to stop.

Been a good game to watch though.

Likewise Vince Williams has been assigned to Rex Burkhead on the outside on a couple of occasions which is utterly ludicrous.

Great TD drive just then, 15 plays and nearly 9 minutes of clock. Keep Brady out of the game and get into the locker room with a lead.

Yep that was brilliant from the Steelers on that drive. Bryant is having his way with Gilmore. Not great considering we are paying him elite corner money. Ben has been excellent too, been on the money all half.

Pats need to find a way to level up the time of possession. When we’ve had the ball we have caused the Steelers problems so it’s not all bad at all.

Edit - just had a quick flick to Redzone during half time and see Jimmy G having another good game for the niners. He is going to be special for them. Seahawks getting a good old fashioned whupping by the Rams at home.

Fuck me how on earth did we win that. Insane game.

Hats off to Pittsburgh, that is by far the best I've seen them play against us. Some real high quality stuff from both teams. On review I probably side with overturning the TD catch for James but was not an easy one to call.

Same here It's about time 49ers had a good Quarterback which they have lacked for a long time and it seems to be working out for Jimmy next season could be interesting for them as I think they would be looking at drafting weapons for him next season.

JG has got them competitive in his early stages. 2nd season - especially in a Shanahan offense - is where it'll tell though. Not quite ready to annoit him special just yet. Of course, that assumes he's resigned by the 9ers...

The James non-TD was a good call but it's a nonsense rule, and we've been here before. No doubt we'll have 'attempts' to 'clarify' the catch rule in the offseason, but as with last time (Bryant) it'll probably do little to make it clearer and only further muddy the water. Though the Carolina 'TD' overturn was a bullshit call though given the need for 'clear proof' he landed in before being out. If it had been called a TD and stayed a TD I'd have agreed, likewise not called a TD and stayed a non-call, but to change it was ridiculous. Hoping Thomas Davis gets a ban, hasn't received anything like the publicity but that was a worse hit on Adams than Trevathan early in season. Nasty stuff.

Ends our season, only thing left is to harm the Vikings and Lions chances. In the off-season, I suspect there are big changes afoot on our roster. Wouldn't surprise me to see Bulaga gone, and Burnett and especially Adams are going to be expensive to keep with Rodgers' new contract around the corner. I wonder how easily we can keep Adams at the expense of Cobb and maybe even Jordy...

I agree on the rule itself being ridiculous Jimbob. Officials got it right in terms of not having full control during the process but even though my team benefited it really needs to be looked at. Amazing how a multi-billion dollar organisation like the NFL makes one of the most basic aspects of the game be so murky. I do think the Steelers even allowing for that though were masters of their own downfall a little bit. On the series before they suddenly went very conservative and had the only three and out of the game to allow Brady to drive down field. And then the whole fake spike thing at the end, while that was not such a problem the throw itself was ill-advised at best.

Will say though Gronk was at his most dominant yesterday. Think Steelers tried everything but was literally a mismatch no matter what they did. Maybe that impromptu bye week he got against Miami did him the world of good.

Jimmy G will likely get franchised I'd expect. May work out best for both parties, give it a year prove it then negotiate a big contract. By then the Niners will know what they have for sure. All I can say is his poise and ability to read Defences and best of all his quick release all point in the right direction for me.

If the Packers are looking at changes I do wonder if it may be time to freshen up in the coaching department. More thinking in Capers direction. Things seem a little stale on that side of the ball for Green Bay and have done for some time.
