Wenger has that broken man look on his face already (the one he normally has in March). We're 75 minutes into the season ffs.

Typical Arsenal really - lots of skill and nice touches in attack but no defence or organisation.

Great for the neutral though!

Some of these arsenal players are just not good enough though. That new dude upfront looks the business.

Arsenal fans find their voice now. Great support. Really got behind the team before Girouds goal.

Bilo reckons he's shit.
I'm always skeptical about these foreign players that come over for large sums of money, but arsenal seem to have a top player with him. He will score plenty and seems well suited to the prem.

Well at least we're scoring. Looked like that'd be an issue in preseason. More confident looking at the opening fixtures, but it's still 0 points innit.

Bonkers game. Neither team was actually any good imo.

Xhaka is the best midfielder in the league, right until he's closed down and then he becomes a liability. Him and Ozil gave the ball away so many times and put a poor defence under such unecessary pressure. In fact I think most of their goals can be linked to that.

I still think our midfield doesn't work unless it's Cazorla & Coq. Any other combo just gives the ball away.

The two new players looked good though and 3 points means I can sit back and enjoy the weekend games much more relaxed.

Is Holding, Monreal and Kolasinac a better option than Jenkinson, Holding and Chambers? As a back 3?

It might struggle to be much worse. I felt sorry for Chambers watching that, surely he can't make that defence weaker?

Well its 3 cbs vs 1 cb and 2 fullbacks. And Monreal should never be up against Vardy, he struggles with his pace. In previous meetings Vardy always gets joy facing up Monreal, so it's hard to understand how Wenger hasn't seen that.
Probably more fear that if he played 3 non senior players he'd be crucified if they didn't win.

Chambers not really known for his pace to be fair.

We could have dealt with Vardy's pace easier if Xhaka and Ozil didn't either pass to Leicester players or just kick the ball out of play.

EDIT: It really was a shit performance bar one or two players, so lucky to get away with it.

No but Nacho is a slug, which you wouldn't expect for a fullback, but his best attribute is reading the game.

Anyhoo, is this format of Friday night football, pitchside a load of shit or ....?

I liked it (but I am more familiar with friday night matches because the Bundesliga has them for a long time and normally they are good action (we're not familiar here with Monday night games so far (bar 2nd BuLi).

One game into the season and Wenger already looks like a constipated ferret.

Unfortunately, it ain't over until the fat lady sings ;)

I've missed the Premier League.

Me, too.

I don't get why Sky are so desperate to piss around with the format for Friday night football, other than it being on a Friday evening what makes it different from Saturday lunch time or Sunday afternoon games? One presenter, a couple of pundits and a studio is all that's needed. Trying to do the analysis and interviews whilst being drowned out by a small bunch of fans didn't work. Don't know what they're trying to achieve. Good game though!

As a neutral, I have to say what a great opening game! Terrible defending but made for a great entertainment, let's hope for a lot more of the same.

Great game, although tactically it was a bit all over the place.

Why did Shakespeare bring on Iheanacho towards the end? Seemed like a strange move when they were trying to defend their lead and already had Vardy and Mahrez on the pitch. As soon as he came on they were completely overrun in midfield.
