Anybody on here follow the A League?

I tend to watch 3 or 4 of the games each week (There's only 5 per round!) so I see a lot of it and have really developed a soft spot for it over the past couple of years, The standard obviously isn't the greatest but it's great for entertainment value.

Don't follow it but I watch a bit of some of the Saturday/Sunday games. Some of them are excellent to watch. Love to see perth Glory win as I've been on holiday there a few times.

I've got a soft spot for Glory myself, they generally play decent football but they're having a tough time at the moment, lost again today 3-2 at Brisbane Roar and they've got a number of key players out injured, would be a shame for them to miss out on the finals as they play decent football but it's looking a real possibility at the moment.

Western Sydney at home to Victory tomorrow should be a good game, both in decent form of late although i'm sure Wanderers will be disappointed with their 2 latest draws. Can see a few goals in this one but wouldn't like to call which way it will go.

Final game of the round about to start, Melbourne City host Adelaide United without their top (and almost only!) goal scorer as Ross McCormack takes to the bench, I believe he has a niggle in his achilles so isn't being risked. Should give Adelaide a huge boost, as well as their 0-0 draw at Sydey last time out.

Didn't get to see too much of the A League this weekend but I saw a lacklustre Sydney performance as they were held by the Mariners, they seemed to lack spark which is unusual for them, Adrian has provided much of it this season but he had an off day. Bobo came to the rescue and at least grabbed them a point, breaking their record for most goals in a season in the process.

Also saw Adelaide get destroyed by Melbourne City although 5-0 was hugely flattering, Budzinski grabbed a brace to pretty much wrap the game up by half time, Adelaide looked threatening but lacked cutting edge and then fell apart at the end. Vidosic bagged a late brace and his first was an absolute belter yet not the best goal of the night, Ross McCormack came off the bench to whip in a fantastic 30 yard strike to make it 5-0, a sensational strike! Atkinson's injury looked a bad one but I don't think it is as bad as it looked but a real highlight in the game was Daniel Arzani, how good is this kid? Never stops running, full of confidence and skins defenders for fun, he's great to watch.

Wellington Phoenix are on the rise and still hopeful of a finals spot despite being at the bottom, was a fantastic win for them at the Jets. Should be an intriguing run in for the bottom six to decide the final 2 spots with Sydney, Jets, Mebourne City & Victory all pretty much guaranteed to be there.

Melbourne City v Newcastle Jets this morning, huge game! City are soaring at the moment and scoring for fun and Jets need to bounce back from defeat to Phoenix in the last round but in general they score for fun too. Bring on the goals!!

Budzinski starting again for City after his brace last time out, should be confident. No Petratos for Jets which is a big loss for them, fancy City to grab all 3 points here.

Was a cracking game between City & Jets yesterday, managed to catch extended highlights last night.

Victory v Sydney this morning, wish they'd stop scheduling these massive games midweek so I can't watch them!

Sydney destroyed Wellington 4-0 this morning to stretch the gap to Jets in 2nd to 12 points. Jets face Victory tomorrow morning in what should be an exciting and open game, expect goals there. 6.35 kick off and live on BT Sport if anyone is up early with nothing to do!

Newcastle Jets booked their place in the Grand Final with a 2-1 win over Melbourne City, go check out Riley McGree's goal to make it 1-1, simply sublime!

Sydney face Melbourne Victory in the 2nd Semi Final tomorrow.

Am I correct in saying Newcastle have been a surprise package this season getting to the final ? I'm sure they were pretty poor last season. I haven't watched as much this season.

Absolutely right, they finished bottom last season and this season have been totally transformed under Ernie Merrick. They're playing some great football and have been the most entertaining side to watch in the league this season.

As well as they have done this season it's unlikely they can overcome Sydney (providing they get past Victory) in the final, Sydney have been the best side by some distance all season.

Grand Final is Saturday (10.50 UK Time)

Genuinely gutted for Sydney on Saturday though, the format of this league is absolute BS. How can a team be the best in the league by a distance all season long and then have to play a Cup at the end to win it. Anyone could beat anyone on their day. So Victory who have been poor for much of the season come good at the end and scrape past the best side in the league to reach the final.

It's a shame because the football is quite enjoyable (although not great quality) but while this format remains, it will never be taken seriously.

Will be cheering for the Jets on Saturday.
