Goins pitched a decent inning, ended with a double play. Darwin Barney just gave up a HR but got a strikeout. 2-1 now bottom 19th, hopefully that ends it haha

Nope, I had some on Toronto Island earlier that day instead. I don't even like Baseball, I just went to see if I could enjoy it again.

It was a pretty good game on what was a lovely night for baseball.

The Rogers Centre is easily the hardest baseball stadium to get to by public transport that i've been to, as it's a good 15 minute walk from the nearest metro station. However, i found that the long metro cars meant that you don't have to hang around for ages at the station, and when we did get on, it wasn't rammed. Considerably better than Nats Park, Yankee Stadium and Camden Yards, but only once you get to the metro station.

Outside there are the usual street vendors, who sold the least tasteless hot dogs i've ever had, who are in front of a truly ugly looking stadium. The CN Tower being right next to it certainly adds to it though, and pushes Camden Yards for the best view when looking out of the stadium.

The concourse was surpisingly roomy for a stadium of it's age, with plenty of food choices between 1st and 3rd base, but not much in the outfield. There were some long queues when trying to get food/drink once the game had started, but that's no different to any other sporting event i've been to.

Once inside the stadium i was surprised at how much i liked the Rogers Centre. Their store was huge but busy, and the fans are the most positive i've experienced, staying until the top of the 9th despite losing, which is a lot better than i've experience in NYC, Baltimore and DC. Must be the excellent metro.

I will say, worst 7th inning i've experienced with a terrible song before Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

And in the 8th inning they play Hooked on a Feeling. As much as i hate to say it, it's no Sweet Caroline.

Seems to get Canadians going though.

I'm usually of the school of thought that firing a manager is bit of a meaningless act, and that it's ultimately the roster that makes the difference, but...... John Farrell's bullpen management is getting pretty vexing.

Joe Torre was terrible at using his bullpen, often driving relievers in to the ground once they had earnt his trust, and did him no harm. He did also have Mo though.

not really been paying attention this year because of the Reds still sucking and trading Frazier/Chapman (should just be a glory-supporter like Carel). So imagine my surprise when I see the All-Star teams. 5'5 lead-off hitter and a 40 year old at clean-up.
