As pathetic as supporters invading the pitch and attacking players and manager (who is also a club legend) after losing a relegation play off match in Sweden?

Passions run high in derbies. We once redesigned Ewood Park for them. We tore off their away end roof

I'm not going to enter this thread like it was a legit competition.

It's not a competition. As I stated in a post earlier. One man's derby, is irrelevant to another. Regardless of the size of the club. I'd take far, far, far more pleasure from us beating our big rivals 1-0 in the last minute than us beating Man Utd or Chelsea or whoever 6-0. The point of the 'biggest derbies' is that there is no point, as they are only big in the eyes of the teams involved. I'd argue 8/10 of that list in the opening post don't even come close to the top 10, but each to their own.

That is also my view on it.

What's that about Trelleborg though? I would like them a bit for one season in the 90's but it wouldn't be 94. Another clue is that it's a seson which we won.

Trelleborg's knocked Blackburn Rovers out of the UEFA Cup in 1994, Champions League now. Which, frankly, was HILARIOUS as Trelleborg's were a part time club.

You don't know anything about HIF uni67. A relegation isn't something to take lightly and we need our supporters. Part of what led up to this absurd scenario is exactly how the standard support has been cut out due to excessive moralism. It's pushed our attendances down to incredible lows and effectivly reduced market value, cause they've failed to replace the people who would really want to see our games. Our crowd used to be more passionate aswell as bigger but I have no doubts that the old crowd would have taken precisely the same stand against Henrik. There is nothing to be ashamed of there.
I agree a relegation isn't something to take lightly, particularly for a club who we played in a champions league qualifier just a few years ago. There is also nothing wrong with fans losing faith in Henrik's ability to manage the team. However in my opinion nothing justifies fans invading the pitch attacking players and threatening the manager. The way Henrik Larsson was treated by fans of a club where he is supposed to be a legend is a disgrace. He is bringing a team of ex team-mates to Celtic park in a few months for a charity match, 60,000 fans who will never forget what he done for our club will be there to see him again!

Definitely before your time but Celtic fans came to Turf Moor for the Anglo Scottish Cup in 1978 and were far from nice...

Looked like a bad day for Celtic fans :ffs: and as much as I do not condone fans fighting each other in the stands or on the pitch (thousands of celtic and rangers fans invaded the pitch at Hampden to fight each other after the 1980 Scottish Cup Final) I would probably rate fans invading the pitch to attack players as worse.

Only Celtic game I remember down your way was beating Blackburn 2-0 at Ewood Park on the road to Uefa Cup Final 2003. Graham Souness was manager of them as well :fl: Sutton and Larsson were deadly up front.

Surely fake. Celtic have no fans.

I have compiled this list of top 10 derbies in world football which I am doing a report on at university. I am keen to find out real football fans opinions on this and if they think it is accurate.

Do you agree with this list of top 10?

Who would you add in or take out?

btw: Forgot to ask this: Report on at university? Really?
Recently we have here some new members from Universities in the UK who register and then made some surveys even for dissertations?
You Brits should not academically learn about football, do it properly on the field. maybe you get some results at tournaments then /i ;)

While clearly a wind up, it does make sense what you say Dirk!
Spend less time analysing and more time actually doing!
