Ipswich v Norwich would be above both the Sunderland ones imo.

Top 3 are right, the top two can be changed depending on opinion I think. I will say Steel City Derby this year as it's been 6 years since the last one.

Yep I'd agree with that.

Top two by far the biggest purely because they're same city.

I imagine it goes off anyway but if both Blues and Villa are doing well and on the up that could be a couple of proper naughty fixtures. Harry n Bruce. Big names signed (potentially more). Nobody should have to motivate themselves for derby day anyway but when you start throwing characters like Redknapp, Terry, Bruce and Xia into the mix it becomes even more tastier.

Wolves vs Aston Villa in my biased opinion. Will probably be the most expensive game ever in the Championship (based on how much each of our starting XI will have cost)

Surely can't be more than Villa Newcastle last year?

I think by the time we've finished our team will have cost more than Newcastle.
Not sure how - Mitrovic, Ritchie, Gayle, Shelvey, Mbemba all cost over £10m, and plenty of the rest of the squad cost in the £5m+ range (Anita, Sels, Lascelles, Hanley, Clark, etc). That's like £80m+ there, not including the rest of the squad. You'd have to spend an awful lot more to get even close to that.

Costa, Neves, Cavaliero, Saiss, and Miranda cost us roughly 45-50m. Got a few more around the 2m range but it would take our two incoming strikers to cost about 30m to match it. If players like Jimenez, Aboubakar, Negrado, Afobe, etc arrive it's possible, although unlikely.

Also Mbemba cost over 10m?

Fair, reckon you are about £40m or so off at the moment but yeah if you drop £30m on a couple of strikers then you'd be pretty much there.

Blues Villa & the Sheffield derby are pretty hard to split, I'd agree with the above post, the Sheffield derby this season purely on the elapsed time since the last league fixture. The first time we played Villa after a decent gap in time was absolute chaos.

Wednesday v United edges it for me, and without looking through the history books is the only one to have been an FA Cup semi final at Wembley from the ones mentioned :)

Blues v Villa just screams aggro but I'm not having Wolves v Villa you played a pre season game v each other the other year.

Wolves Blues would be ahead of Wolves Villa every time if judging it in terms of needle, there's more trouble at Wolves each and every year than there ever is at VP.

If your bringing fa cup semi finals into it, haven't Leeds played Sunderland in a final? However united v Wednesday is a bigger game than that like

1973, but that doesn't count cos Don Review and Leeds are cheats, the match winner in the final was part of both Sheffield clubs history too.

Given the money both are chucking around, I think the Second City Derby is the biggest game this year, with the Steel City Derby in second.

As usual the playoff final will be the biggest fixture in the Championship this season.

In terms of winnings and achievement maybe but we're dick waving here. Unless it's a couple of teams I enjoy watching or one that might have a bit more edge to it I don't normally give a toss. Didn't watch this years, just didn't have any appeal to me at all and I think that was justified by the 90 minutes that played out. Of course if you're a Reading/Huddersfield fan then you'll obviously disagree straight away as you were involved and boarded the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with it.

That playoff final was quite possibly the worst playoff game in history.

Sheff derby and Birmingham derby are on par and by far the biggest games in terms of animosity, aggro, rivaly ect and always great games to watch on the tv with the atmosphere and scenes ect.

Obviously being a villa fan I'm going to be biased, but forgetting that I'd definitely go with the Sheffield Derby. It matches the Birmingham Derby in every sense apart from maybe the aggro. Sunderland and Leeds will be a good one too.
