Pardon my ignorance but why is Sunderland vs Leeds a big/hate-filled game?

It's not really it's just 2 big clubs reasonably near each other, I would guess it will be sold out at both grounds.

Near in which way? Because both towns are 91 miles apart geographically...

I would have thought both had bigger fish to fry locally...

Reasonably near maybe wording it better would be that I'd guess it's Sunderland 2nd nearest game after Boro and also one of Leeds too, anyway last time they played in this division there was 47k at the sol so it's clearly sort of a big game. Just like Leeds v Newcastle last year it was the only game Elland road was full.

I'd expect any 'big' ex-Premier League team would attract a large attendance in the Championship - Sunerland are like Villa, West Ham etc who the vast majority of teams in this league haven't played for some time.

Whilst Newcastle was the only away set of fans to sell their allocation, all the home tickets were sold for Rotherham, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday. It also probably helped that we had a decent season last year.

You didn't sell out against Wednesday. Villa and Wednesday both sold out at Elland road too from what I remember
