I slightly regret that when we made you go a whole season without pessimism we didn't extend it to two seasons.

Are you willing to make another wager? If we get promoted this season you have to go another season sans-pessimism.

Seriously shoddy, you're trying to get me to be positive about us today but ask any Carlisle fan who was there and they'll say the same thing.

As I said earlier in thread, if we have a good January we can still make the playoffs. If we keep the squad as it is we won't because it's no where near good enough.

Ask me the same question at the end of January deadline day.

We are in desperate need of a win on Saturday. I know we never beat Wycombe, but this time we have to. After that we have Doncaster away which we need to go into with confidence and a bit of form. We don't want to go 6, 7, 8 games without a win, otherwise we'll drop quicker than a building demolition job.

Shite performance today, but at 2-0 you have to see it out. I enjoyed the day but the game was very poor, both goals seemed weak.

I've just seen we're now 8th. We've not had a great start, but a win against Wycombe next week would put us in a good position.

8th isn't too bad at this stage IMO. We've had a lot of signings, plenty of whom were signed as starters, and are getting results despite rarely playing well for a full 90 minutes. If we can continue scoring goals whilst shoring up the defence a bit then I think we'll be in very good shape going into our easier run starting in October.

So, question to those who were there. After what we were saying before the game, do we actually need that Jones/Joyce pairing? Yesterday sounded like for the first time since Portsmouth we didn't have midfield control and perhaps we do need that.

Having said that we did go two goals up and it was a moment of poor defending and then a tactical error replacing a striker with a defender that let Blackpool back in rather that Blackpool's midfield dominance (and I think we did have Jones and Joyce on by that point anyway). So was sacrificing Joyce for an extra man in an attacking position the reason we scored twice or were they just two lucky goals scored against the run of play?

Also noted that Curle defended his decision on the radio (as of course he would). I don't claim to know better than him but I agree with the majority that it was an error to bring Brisley on for Jabo, but Curle feels, I can only assume, that had he not made the switch Blackpool would have gone on to equalise or even to win anyway.

It was so poor that first half, we looked sloppy and offered next to nothing. It improved after the break to an extent, but going 2-0 up wasn't really deserved. However, after we made it 1-0 we looked much brighter and threatened a bit.

Conceding the goal just a minute later was very poor and turned the tide a bit, defence at fault. I don't know what Raynes was doing for the second, just get rid of it. As already said, the substitution cost us and left us with little going forward.

Like I said the other day, I'd prefer to see Jones/Joyce in these sort of away games, we had no control and were fairly poor with the ball.

There's some proper drama-queens on our messageboard saying it's relagation form....must be why we're 8th then? We're yet to lose a game, Wyke is starting to find the net again, and we've got an easier run of games next month. I've got a feeling we'll get a good win against Wycombe.

I think Raynes needs dropped. He started the season off well but he's been absolutely shit these past few games, defensively anyway.

Maybe time to give Ellis or Brisley a start alongside Macauley.
