We haven't managed a win or draw (or even a goal I don't think) in any of our past 3 Premier League opening games. So it'd be nice to get something to start the season with for once!

I highly doubt Howe will throw any new signings in here. Rico is suspended anyway, but Lerma and Brooks will be on the bench at best I'd think. Howe will play the trusty squad and expect them to ensure some form of result here, before he thinks about adding any new variables to the side in games to come.

Cardiff will be a decent tight knit unit I'd imagine, with that newly promoted confidence pumping through their veins. With a bit of luck it might show some over-exuberance we can exploit. More likely, as Warnock is a wily old fox, he'll keep his shape in check and we'll need to show an edge of quality to create something.

We spent a lot of time weighing up a move for Reid whilst at Bristol City before deciding on Brooks, so it'll be interesting to see how Reid performs for Cardiff. Any time goal scorer to show us what we could have won perhaps?

Dreadful game for the most part. We weren't particularly good, Cardiff were very poor. That said they had one cleared off the line at 1-0 which would have punished us for our inability to finish them off. Thankfully we got there in the end.

Why we've left and kept L Cook on the bench I've no idea.

King and Fraser the highlights for us today.

Warnock got the team selection dreadfully wrong today. Bamba is a liability in defence let alone when he's in midfield. Not starting with Murphy was another mistake. Rude awakening and hopefully we'll buck our ideas up from now on.

Reports that some Cardiff fans were throwing coins at Ryan Fraser when he scored.

It was at subsequent throw ins. If our visitors are that affluent they can literally chuck their money away, I'd rather they spent it in the local pubs!

Not good to see. Fraser made a point of showing the ref some coins, which should mean it's included in the offical's match report and notify the FA. Might result in a fine for Cardiff. Or more productive perhaps, Cardiff trying to identify the people concerned from footage.

Probably won't be the last time we hear about something like that sadly.

Annoying as hell to hear about it after the work that has been put in over the years to weed out the idiots. These are going to be frequent travellers to away games as you needed 7 away games from last season to get a ticket to this one. Hope the folks behaving in such a way are caught and banned for life. It's going to be tough enough for us as it is without stuff like this drawing attention to us as well.

Back to footbll and on a more positive note, that Mendez-Laing looked a handful, not much end product perhaps but certainly lively and threatening on a counter attack. He could be handy, better than Hoilett?

What Cardiff are crying out for (imho) is a creative player to link together their organised and industrious side with an attack. Arter unfortunately isn't that man, although he will fit the work ethic and running side of things. Maybe Camarasa from Betis? Otherwise I fear they aren't going to score enough goals.
