Hi all,

Most of you probably aren't bothered which is fair enough, but I have had some on here in recent months ask what's going on at Bradford?

Well this article pretty much sums everything up nicely from one of our more known fans, I suggest giving it a read if you have 5 minutes, it makes interesting reading https://widthofapost.com/2018/11/28/edin-heads-towards-the-exit/

This paragraph in particular shows what a laughing stock we have turned into under one mans leadership:
"Some of Rahic’s training ideas were said to be farcical, but did at least help foster team spirit. Rahic, who had an office at the training ground (complete with tactics board) would regularly come out to watch the team train. The story goes that, when he did, McCall would get the players to pretend they were undertaking one of Rahic’s strange ideas, struggling to keep straight faces, before Edin departed and then they could go back to what the professionals thought they should be doing."

I’ve said it a few times but the similarities of our situations are scary, even in terms of a successful rebuilding process then being destroyed.

Everything Rahic is accused of in that article Roland is also guilty of and I really do mean everything.

The last few paragraphs sum up exactly how Charlton fans feel too.

There are so many stories of Rahic’s conduct that have yet to come out in public. Little tales here and there of the madness of his approach. He did not know football. And his sheer arrogance of thinking he knew better than everyone else was ill-judged and destructive. He was given an incredible gift of a high-performing and truly special football club, and he tore it up.

It will take some time to fix the damage. For the club to get back to where it was. As the financial gap between the Championship and League One grows, it could also define our long-term future.

It is a story stranger than fiction. And one that, for Bradford City fans, would be firmly listed under horror. But at least this particular chapter is coming to an end.

Fortunately for Bradford it sounds like there are people at the club who are ready to steady the ship once Rahic departs but the damage these people cause to football clubs can take an age to repair.

Do you still think you’re doomed to League 2 even if he goes or will it give Hopkins and the players some breathing space to implement their own ideas/plans?

So it's the old "ego-maniac does quite well in business so assumes he's great at everything" story. My condolences.

Found an old Telegraph & Argus Q&A when he took over, which is revealing:
"
Q: DO YOU HAVE A FOOTBALL BACKGROUND?
A: When I was younger, I was a left winger.
People told me I had a great talent but I don't think I had the mind or the passion for football at the time. I was injured and twice broke my Achilles.
"

Classic "Trump/Kim Jong-Un" mentality.

Personally I think we'll go down, but who knows what effect him leaving will have. Thankfully it's not going to be as drawn out as yours, or a Blackpool or Coventry situation so if/when we do go down it gives us a fighting chance of bouncing back asap.

When Parkinson had one meeting with him he left straight away, alarm bells probably should have been ringing for us fans then, but as with most football fans new ownership brings new hopes and aspirations. He thinks he knows better than the paid professionals, this isn't about finances or lack of like a Blackburn, this is much more unfortunately, I could forgive them not having the money to compete, but they obviously do which make it much worse.

Three years ago you were bigging yourselves up as the best team in the first division which you clearly weren't. Parkinson is a dinosaur

Yep, not good at all. Crazy how quickly things can turn negative. A lot of clubs at this level have always looked at Bradford and aspired to follow their format, especially with the cheap tickets.

Could always be worse though. You could be homeless Coventry City.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone say that we were the biggest team in the league but I suspect if so they were taking the pish and people are biting three years on which is actual lol.

I can understand your headline and comments, tbh there but for the grace of God go almost every football club in this country, indeed much further a field

I read the article, for a Bantams fan painful reading but such is the topsy turvy nature of this game that one minute you are riding high and the next plumbing the depths

You got a very creditable draw to day in the Cup and come next Feb/March can look back on this as perhaps a turning point - keep the faith mate you will be ok

All Eoin Doyles's fault.

We've got a really good keeper you can have too.

It’s a long season. And I don’t think you will be relegated, but that does not solve the issues off the field.
You have no option other than to go with it.

Unbelievable really. How not to run a club.

Pretty scathing statement from Rupp, certainly said what he felt in that.

'The people of Bradford deserve much, much better.
I will do everything in my power to wash away the dreadful memories of the last 12 months and consign them to the history books for good. '

We may as well have just set fire to a bag of money, at least the heat would have been useful, unlike this team.

Massive game this weekend at home to Scunthorpe, a win and other results going in our favour would have us leap frog Scunny out of the bottom four. The return of McCall will feature heavily in the build up but for me the less so the better as I think it’ll only prove a distraction, as on really recent form I have us as favourites.
