A pretty big local derby coming up, and both teams are in much better form.

Last 5

Bury 2-1 Wimbledon
Bradford 2-2 Bury
Bury 0-0 Southend
Blackburn 2-0 Bury
Bury 2-1 Gillingham

Oldham 1-2 Plymouth
Oldham 2-1 Bradford
Blackburn 2-2 Oldham
Oldham 1-0 MK Dons
Scunthorpe 0-2 Oldham

King Doyle is back after 3 months out and it took him less than 20 minutes to score - and a good goal at that. Wellens reckons he still isn’t fit enough to start, however I think he’s bluffing personally. Holloway was excellent off the bench at the weekend, as he is often is, but doesn’t seem to have the same effect when he’s given a starting role, so I think he’ll be on the bench again.

Placide
Dummigan - Gerrard - Bryan - Moimbe
Fane
Byrne - Gardner - Pringle
Davies - Doyle

Sub: La Paz, Hunt, Wilson, McEleney, McLaughlin, Nazon, Holloway
I wouldn’t be against a draw. However,Bury need the points a hell of lot more than us and with that being the case I reckon we can take advantage of their openness.

Bury 1-2 Latics (2200 ‘tics)

Doyle & Byrne

We have been pulling in 3000 odd home fans for most home games this season, which by our standards, and considering the joke of a season we have had, has been very good. I reckon we will have a decent home attendance.

My heart is telling me we are due back to back wins, (not had that in over a year.)
We are due a result over Oldham (not since the 60s)
We are due a big performance in a big game where there is a lot at stake (can't remember the last time we did that, Tranmere and promotion maybe?)

My head is reminding me this is Bury and we just don't break our own awful cycles and we certainly don't do big games like this.

I can see us being up for this, but can't see us having enough to beat Oldham.

Prediction 1-1
Att 6182 (2987 away fans)

Looking forward to this one - an in form Latics side against a resurgent Bury.

Would take a draw from this myself as I think we’ll have easier games this season to pick up 3 whilst a point is no real use to Bury.

It will be interesting to see if Doyle starts, especially as he’ll be up against a new centre back pairing without Clarke.

1-1 with 2,750 noisy tics.

Oldham owe us a pint if they stay up.

Showed a bit of character to come from two down. Poor for most of the game though, I'll take the point.
