I wonder how many goals we won't score this time.

We need to work hard on how we link up, passing, movement on the ball, and shape (especially at set pieces) because right now it's that stuff that's going to see us lose match after match. I can't see us magically fixing this in the couple of days we get of training between now and Salford, so the pattern is likely to repeat itself. We edge the first twenty minutes, they score a goal, we struggle for the rest of the first half, they go 2-0 up almost on the stroke of half time. We have plenty of the ball in the second half but only manage one or two shots on goal.

Personally I think we need to not play Loft up front. He's not been particularly bad when he has played but I don't see how he's keeping Olomola, Hope and Sorensen out of the side. Olomola has been better and more involved. Sorensen is maybe our best forward on paper; Loft doesn't really look like he can impact the game that much, he's much less experienced than the others. Hope would be a better choice. We can abandon any notion that bringing the other players on in the second half is a tactical choice because we're already 2-0 by then.

I wasn't that impressed with Salford last weekend if Im honest. They seem to have enough to survive in this division, but didn't look like anything special, or put us under serious pressure.

I certainly wouldn't be going into the game thinking that you are going to lose.

Are there any Salford fans on here?

I remember there being one when they got promoted but not seen him since unless he was just some Man Utd class of 92 obsessed fan.

They are having a quiet season so far, not taken off as well as I thought which will disappoint Sky and the BBC.

Pressley needs the win here. Another defeat and the crowd will turn on him I’m sure when realistically with how late this team was put together and the shambles of having no front line in preseason, he needs to be given more time for this team to gel together.

At the moment I’m with shoddy in I can’t see us scoring a goal. If I thought for one second pressley would change things up a bit and try something different then maybe, but i expect him to make 1 or 2 maximum personnel changes but stick with the same game plan that has already been found out 2 weeks into the season.

I’d like to see us try something different, perhaps Jones and Carroll as 2 sitting midfielders, with McKirdy as a number 10, Hope wide left, Thomas wide right with either Sorensen or Olomola as the striker. It won’t happen though and we’ll get beat 1 or 2-0. Hope I’m wrong because like I say we and in particular pressley need to win this game.

No surprise he’s on bench after Pressley’s high praise of the midfield performance on Tuesday

It’s frightening how easy it is to score against us

This referee has been Salford's best player so far. Their equaliser came after Byron Webster was dragged to the ground but no foul given. Then they foul Webster again in the box and the penalty is instead given to them. Utter shambles.

Very good performance overall

Really should have won easily, but easy chances missed and defensively terrible means we’re still in the mire.

I couldn’t tell whether it was a foul on Webster, I’d have to see it again.

On one hand it’s good that we’ve created chances but also it’s worrying that we can play well and still not win.

Great point for Salford

If it wasn't a foul then it was very close, Webster definitely went down and there was definitely contact, looked dragged to be.

The penalty, I couldn't even tell you which Salford player was fouled, never mind when the foul occurred or who committed it. There was also a handball by a Salford player I think in the build up.

Sorenson's miss alone was enough to justify Olomola starting ahead of him. How he managed to squeeze the ball through the tiny gap between his body and the post I'll never know.

Hope and Olomola also both missed sitters. Well Hope definitely, might be harsh on Fela, as I didn't get a clear view.

Prize plum award goes up Scougall though who having gotten two on one with the keeper, decided to shoot himself and put it wide when if he'd rolled it to Hope there would have been time for a selfie before tapping it in.

A muted end to the game from the away fans as news filtered through that their team had been beaten 2-1 by Palace

If we lose at Scunthorpe next week which is quite likely given our woeful away results and performances under pressley, then we are in deep deep shit with Exeter to come the following week.

How was Salford’s time wasting, they were in Wycombe’s league on Tuesday?

Didn't really notice any of it going on. They weren't really trying to win the game in the latter stages either

But they nearly did, and it would have been absolute robbery.

I know possession doesn't win games but this is the third game in a row we've had over 60% so to only take one point from those three takes some doing.

Maybe you need to change the thread title guys, I didn’t notice this result earlier and thought 0-2 was the actual score. :lac:

Yeah change the thread title. The current one is wrong. This was 2-2. It's confusing.

Anyone putting incorrect scores as thread titles should be banned for life from 1ff.
