Liverpool's 5-0 win in Portugal is a low quality result, in my opinion.

It's finely poised heading into the second leg, I'll tell you that for free.

Porto were unbeaten in 25 games at home before tonight, Liverpool are now the top scorers in the CL, and when we last beat Portuguese opponents in the CL which has happened twice previously, we went on to win the thing. ;)

Because you appear desperate to latch onto the tenuous in an attempt to put down the quality that he served up.
I described it as amazing, but I'm just saying that if he had scored the rebound directly he wouldn't have had to do it. Never said he wasn't a great player.

Impressive set of results for the English sides.

Can see both Chelsea and Man U drawing next week..

Is that it for PSG or can they come back against Madrid ?

Stolen elsewhere:

'On Tuesday night, Man City recorded the biggest ever away win by an English side in the CL knockout stages. (0-4)

On Wednesday night, Liverpool recorded the biggest ever away win by an English side in the CL knockout stages. (0-5)'

Over to you Mourinho.

When the draw was made I sided with Chelsea as I thought Barca were a bit one-dimensional. However they have kicked on, with Suarez in particular showing what he can do; whilst all is not well with Chelsea and Conte. Hence overall I see Barca progressing by a couple of goals.

Depends on Mbappé and Neymar and what mood they'll be in on March 6th. They were far from what was expected of them last night and we missed the chance to go 2-1 up when it mattered. People have been criticizing Emery for subbing Cavani for Meunier but I honestly reckon it's a mental block and that the players didn't really believe they could take RM in their own backyard.
We can turn this around. Of course we can. But the big game players need to have a big game. Otherwise we'll be nowhere near qualification.

Impressive result last night in Oporto. The key question however is: Should liverpool get all the credits, or was it because of Porto's terrible performance?

Is Emery good enough for PSG? He did excellent in Europe with Sevilla but it’s different managing them than managing the personalities and expectation at PSG. Do PSG need a bigger character? An Ancelotti for example?

I think there's so much a manager can do from the touchlines. Again, I think our problem is coming from mental weakness and thinking too much of where we are and who we are playing. We just go to pieces at places like the Nou Camp, the Bernabeu or the Allianz Arena (I'm pretty sure we'd be scared shitless at the Allianz Stadium but that needs to be proven). There's so much Unai can do with his subs. Of course it's easy to point fingers after the game that his sub was terrible (it made a lot of sense at the time as Mbappé was doing zero defensive work on Marcelo) and it is also easy to laud Zidane for going for the win when, really, the two goals they scored were as route one as you'll ever (cross, shot, goal, wow! never seen that before!).
I refuse to blame Emery 100% for this. Rabiot came out after the game and said the players had only themselves to blame. They do. It was up to them to go 2-1 midway through the second half. They didn't. Unai can't be blamed for that.

Considering Porto have never in their history lost by five at home in the CL you'll have to give us some credit. They've had significantly weaker sides than this year's edition as well.

Wijnaldum played last night. No wonder we played well.

So tonight will be fun! Hopefully. I hope Barca run over Chelsea like 6-0 or something and completely break their spirits.

I'd get Pedro off for Giroud/Morata and put Willian behind Hazard and whichever is subbed on.

Willian has hit each post today. I think he's just getting his eye in.

Chelsea the better team despite Barca bossing possession. Set up for a Messi heartbreaker this.

Why would a Liverpool fan want Barcelona to progress over Chelsea? Chelsea going through would be a) more beatable if you draw them and b) less likely to keep you out of the top four.

If you're talking about Saltire, he supports Barcelona because his friend's uncle's cousin's dog's granddad once went to Spain.
