Stickied Championship - Away Support Thread 2023/24

We only averaged around 24,000 in our premier league relegation season and its not dropped much below this even in our league one season's finishing in bottom half.
Think lowest is 18-19,000 when we finished 17th.

I think in indentical circumstances we would get around 1500. Buy one get one free is a big incentive. Also didn't Brum take 3/4k there on a weeknight when it was £10 or something?

That's the same with a lot of away support in this division, the only 3 who always take good numbers away are Leeds, Villa and Wednesday. Derby, Sheffield United, Brum, Forest, Norwich and Boro, all blow hot and cold when it comes to away support.

It is phenomenal but I'd rather be us/you with a rivalry and city split than them, same as the Jawdees.

Think Villas will stand up for another season but will drop if they don't go up, we've been out of the top flight for 19 years ffs but on my records we've averaged between 1900 and 2,600 every year, two promotions, two play off campaigns, two relegations to the 3rd tier and abject wank in between....

I won’t include Liverpool or United either as it pointless to compare. Our support home and away has stood up very well since being relegated. I would say where you are in the league, that's a very good away following, think you will get a result as well.

Thought your lowest was 1700 in league one. We're generally between 1600 and 2000 mostly.

I'd say we fall into the blow hot and cold section.

You can only blame your club for that. Town take a pledge to each club to say, if you don't charge our fans more the £25, we won't charge more than that either.

I don't think our away support has gone to another level, its been decent for as long as I can remember, anything between 2k and 2.5k is about par for the course over a season for us, if we started averaging between 2.8k and 3k then yes it would have gone up a level, but despite your continued insistence to the contrary it's no more than normal for us.
I agree Leeds numbers are phenomenal, but many of them are arseholes.

Some great away followings in the FA cup today, Derby was a good following, and a great atmosphere in and out the stadium, big thank you to Accrington Stanley for a great welcome, a lot of rams fans in the home end today having a great time, and only 2 pound a pint before the game, in the fan zone, and also having the standing areas made it feel like a great day out. If you don't bounce, and Wednesday know the rest lol.

Hope you managed to go, and yes I was pleased to be right, your in good form at the mo, will be a tough game for us at deepdale on Friday night, think you have done better away from home just recently though, anyway sold just over. 1000 at the moment, so expect about 1200, I will not be going, hate Friday night football away, a nightmare to get to on the roads, and no trains back. So I wil be watching on Sky.
