Load of shit.
It's not the best Bobbin, I appreciate that but it's the first I've seen so a decent starting point.
With all possible respect, the Addicks will be predicted to struggle by most I should think.
FWIW, I don't know if you will or not.

I was only joking mate.

I fully expect most previews to have us in the bottom 3 and with very good reason.

However, Luton appear to be trying too hard to adapt to the Championship, when they were within their rights to make the Championship adapt to them.

Interesting point this. Not sure if I agree or disagree with this.

For me, the Championship will eat us alive if we go in playing the expansive football every week as we were under Nathan Jones; so the league deserves respect.

I was rather surprised by your predicted finish Liam, as I was ours.
As I said, it's the first one I've seen so, if you see any, bung them on here.

We tried doing the same when we came up Ken, it didn't work. Luckily, we realised just in time and stayed up. That's the battle you should be aiming to win this season WTGR, just survive as this is a brutal league and a major step up from L1 with all respect to that division.
This is where you'll notice the parachute payments and the difference they make.

For sure, as I've said previously, if we finish 21st and above I'd be delighted.

We're not going to progress properly until Power Court and the profits of Newlands Park are realised. That said, we still can gradually improve and build up the club in the proceeding years, but if we get relegated, so be it. We're at least a year or two ahead of where I expected us to be.

I do not want us to become a club like Sheffield Wednesday and others who are built on sand struggling to meet their FFP obligations - like it or not FFP is a good thing. That's the reason we left here 12 years ago.

You won't want to go down (obviously) after being up here Ken, it's a brilliant division to be in and the standard is very good. Going back to L1 would be horrible after getting a taste of this league.
We were only down in L1 for a few years and the difference between the Championship we left and the one we rejoined was massive. For you guys, after being away for 12 seasons, it will be even more of a shock I should think.
With the Prem becoming a world league, a lot of the UK players that would have been in the top league, ply their trade here and it shows. There are some wonderful players in the Championship TBH.

Pretty much every club apart from Brentford is like that, all relying on a rich owner to keep them going. How many clubs actually turn a profit in this league?

Preston maybe?
I don't think even Brentford do TBH.
We're certainly reliant on Steve Lansdown but are trying to cut that reliance although we'll never totally remove it . He's minted anyway. :)

Probably not mate, and pretty much the same for us with Chansiri, he's taken massive financial losses but has taken them on the chin and seems to be learning, he's got us out of the FFP embargo avoiding any punishment like Birmingham, and hopefully will see us become a more pragmatic forward thinking club.

I can see the point being made for sure. Dance with the the one you came with and all that.

We have also deviated a little in our off field approach too I think. The reasoning behind a lot of our signings, bar Sluga, have been very much weighted toward “they know this league”.

It’s a bit of a deviation from what got us here honestly in terms of transfer approach where would sign a Collins but then bring in a player like Stacey, Cornick or Berry also. Was more of a mixture I guess. I’d much rather us sign up and coming players from leagues 1 and 2 than those sorts of players to be honest as I think if we did go down we might be in better shape to make an attack at coming back up again fairly soon after, with saleable assets as well. Not sure we have too many of those at the moment with Stacey and Jj now off.

17th. I'd be ok with that. Think we will be a couple of places lower though.

Looking at what our defence is going to be at the start of the season i'd be well happy with 10th.We have got promotion challenging Midfield/Forwards with a relegation Defence with less than 2 weeks left to the transfer deadline.

Your last accounts are fucking frightening to be honest but SL like DC are wealthy and can absorb it but current FFP rules don't allow that, they aren't fit for purpose.

I think, and stand to be corrected by those far more knowledgeable than me about our finances, that we work on the 3 year limited losses figures. £39M I believe is allowed.
With sales of nigh on £50M in the last 18 months, I believe we are well inside those figures although running at a fair old loss. I guess it's only this coming year that we'll see the effects of the rebuild and non matchday revenues too as it would be 3 years since completion.
Like you say, as long as SL and his family ( his son has just been made Chairman of the football club), we don't have a problem but it's genuinely concerning. Same with your good selves and DC I would imagine.

Historically to May 2018 you have a P & L losses of 121m, not that it means much.

Speaking to JJH, based on accounts to May 18 you've exceeded the 39m, it will be countered by the sales to May 19 but you've spent again this summer covered by the Kelly monies as it stands.

This is why FFP is fucked though we have owners willing to cover their ambition but aren't allowed yet clubs are rewarded for failure.

Fair assessment as far as we're concerned.

Don’t think I can argue too much considering what we’ve done so far this summer. We were very active in the last two weeks of the window last year and I’m expecting the same again. We’ll need to be if we want to survive.

We're probably up after players sales over the last two years but we lose money every month which is offset by Hemmings.

Talksport's super computer is faulty. We won't finish in the bottom 3.

http://jjhuk.blogspot.com/ - I've written my annual 1-24 Championship preview if anyone's arsed, any feedback appreciated as always
Good stuff mate, obviously now Billing has left Huddersfield we all move up a place and they drop to 9th....

Can't see the relegated three being as strong as that but well put together preview.

Hope the tin hat you've got is brand new.
