Good stuff mate, obviously now Billing has left Huddersfield we all move up a place and they drop to 9th....

Can't see the relegated three being as strong as that but well put together preview.

Hope the tin hat you've got is brand new.
Cheers Walkley.

I was reluctant to have them three as the top three, I'm unsure on Fulham and Huddersfield but I don't know enough about their managers to say they won't get both of their squads where they should be. Cardiff unfortunately I'm sure will be up there.

Good read.

Our first bottom half finish for 9 years is a call though. That's what these things are about I guess.

If Bielik is a sign of things to come then I'd disagree with my own prediction in 8 days time but at the time of writing I think you look considerably weaker than last season, but Cocu may have a similar impact on your squad like Bielsa did.

Seems fair enough to me, it’s going to be a struggle and I think everyone knows that, don’t think it’s been suggested otherwise.

Like to think we wouldn’t end up bottom and will put up some fight at least, but can’t argue at the logic put forth.

Not happy one bit mate.

Nah, hard to argue with much of that really. Seems all fair enough. Obviously 3 relegated teams finishing top 3 is an ask but they all have strong sides on paper and that’s all you can really base it on at this stage.

I’m not as convinced on Brentford as most others but we’ll wait and see.

Preston maybe?
I don't think even Brentford do TBH.
We're certainly reliant on Steve Lansdown but are trying to cut that reliance although we'll never totally remove it . He's minted anyway. :)
We’ve been pretty reliant on our owner, though it’s to the tune of a few million each year, not 10s of millions like others, so we don’t get anywhere near the FFP boundaries (or at least, not since our first year or two here). Arguably given the ‘value’ of our squad and stadium, we’ve probably made a profit on the money invested so far.

While we’ve made a lot of money on player sales, a lot of it is still due in instalments, so we should be in better shape (and hopefully profit - I.e. bigger wage budgets) for the years ahead.

We’ve spent over £20m (if you include add ons) in this transfer window, which is mental, but almost entirely covered by sales so far.

http://jjhuk.blogspot.com/ - I've written my annual 1-24 Championship preview if anyone's arsed, any feedback appreciated as always

You're right that we didn't expect to keep most of our best players, but we wouldn't include Billing in that, he was a wanker with a shit attitude so he was never going to stay and we're glad to see the back of him.

The 3 that we are most pleased to see stay (so far) are Mooy, Kongolo and Schindler. All three are too good for us. I expect us to make at least one more signing and if we keep our best players then we do have a chance of a playoff push definitely. We've got plenty of players who have been stars in this league previously. But I can't help but think that it will take one hell of an effort to go from a side relegated in January to one that wins 25-30 games in a season

Either our fans have had nothing better to do during the summer or football fans in general really are genuinely, fucking stupid.

Sheffield Wednesday finishing bottom looks bang on though :shifty:
