I'd have put money on Bradley Wood signing for Alfreton, I bet he'll do well there.

Still, given his current situation, it's a bit of a gamble.

A classic Alfreton signing. No class, no morals.

What the fuck is even going on with this Wood situation how long does an "investigation" take?! Been going on months it's ridiculous.

He should be lining up tomorrow in the red and white of Lincoln not Alfreton, no disrespect. He was unbelievable for us last year, good luck to the bloke!

Yep. He played a grand total of about 71 minutes (thats a complete guess) for us in the 2nd half of last season, and did nothing.

Yeah, he's not as dreadful as people make out, but he's the very definition of a confidence player. Will frustrate his team mates through a lack of passing, but when he was really flying the other season, every cross he stuck in the box was right on Cook's head. Can dribble and shoot, but is just as likely to spoon it out of the ground. Thought he was harshly treated by us (though he was garbage for Macclesfield as I saw that game too).

Look up his Barrow goals against Stockport and Tranmere to see what he's capable of.

We've signed winger Brandon Fox after two previous loan spells from Leicester city. Apparently was on trial at clubs higher up the league's in pre season but has now signed up.

On his day will be too good for the north and if we can get one more decent striker in then we will be challenging for top 7.

Burton Albion striker Marcus Dinanga has joined AFC Telford United on a season-long youth loan.

The 20-year-old signed an improved contract with the Brewers back in July, and will now spend the remainder of the season with Shropshire-based Telford

How old is this guy? Unless he's still a teenager that scoring record doesn't look impressive enough to make such a massive jump.

Has Jordan Lussey to Telford been mentioned yet? That's a very good signing for them.

We've allowed Callum Howe to join Eastleigh on loan until January.

As GodsGift says in the L2 forum, a little surprising given that the Raggett situation is still up in the air (Sunderland the latest to be watching him) but it must mean that we're pretty confident of sorting a replacement out at short notice if needed.

On Howe, he did well at Southport for 15 games or so last season and got their captaincy, which is unusual for a short term loan player who was only 22 at the time. Most of his appearances came in his first season with us and last season only made 5 or so and that was due to Raggett and Waterfall being on top form and fit every week last season.

He's a weird one really because he's never dropped any clangers or looked like a bad player but he's never really stood out either. Looks as though there's potentially something there and he was certainly worth having around last season as a competent 3rd choice CB for us. If I'm being honest, I don't think Cowley expected him to sign a new deal because of the squad players last season, it reads like they were all offered token contracts and Howe was the only one to stick around.

He will know Andrew Boyce as well because they were at Scunny together.

Callum Howe will be 3rd/4th choice for us, but given 1 of our 2 starters is Reda Johnson who only plays 2 games then misses 3 through injury, he is really up against transfer listed Ayo Obileye, regarding who replaces Reda and partners in the impressive Boyce. I suspect the manger will stick Howe straight in alongside Boyce tonight. Or he could start at RB as Hoyte can only see out of one eye as a result of a mauling from the massive Dag striker on saturday.

We've just signed striker Alex Reid on loan from Fleetwood. He hasn't got a Wikipedia page.

Howe was brilliant for us last year in what was a poor and unsettled side. He has the ability to comfortable hold down a place at most National League clubs, and suffered last season purely because of who LIncoln had ahead of him. If he can't get a regular start with you guys I'm expecting you to be top of the league like Lincoln were.

3rd or 4th choice haha behave! He's 3rd or 4th choice here he's not gone out to be the same. He's obviously been told he'll be in the side and as Boyce and Howe know eachother already that's your new CB partnership right there.

Very good player by the way, too good for mid table Eastleigh thought he'd go to a top 7 NL side. Boyce must have played a part.

Reading our OS, it seems like we've been given assurances that he'll be playing.

Newport County striker Aaron Williams has today joined National League North side Brackley Town on Loan until January.
The striker, contributed to the club's "Great Escape" with important goals vs Hartlepool and Morecambe.

Aaron has experience at National League North having played for Nuneaton Town in the 2015/-16 Season when he sucured 12 goals in just 26 appearances.

If Reda Johnson and Boyce are both fit, they start ahead of Howe.
But facts are Reda doesnt play many games, so Howe will fill in, as he did last night.
Ayo Obileye is a funny one, he's on the transfer list, but everytime he plays, he not only plays quite well, but more often than not also scores. How many clubs, at any level, have a CB that starts as sub, comes on and takes a penalty because the regular penalty taker has already missed one?? I hate CB's taking pens at the best of times, but when you are a substitute & transfer listed CB, you've got no right to take a penalty, so must have some weight at the club to demand to take the second pen and be allowed, whilst you have experienced players like Craig McAllister and others on the pitch also wanting to take it. Fair play to Ayo, many of our fans would like us to stick him in ahead of Howe for now, although him sure that wont happen, but i dont think Howe will start ever week, especially when RJ is back and considering we also lost last night too with Howe in the CB pairing.

How is everyone's least favourite sicknote showpony head-on-a-stick getting on?

You mean Johnson or Cresswell.....
Johnson is very good when he plays, but we lucky to get 15-20 games out of him, yet we gave him a 3 yr deal...
Creswell is a quality player for this level, but only played about 5 games at the start of last season, and has been out injured every since. Rumours that he wants to return to the north and actually had yet another knee operation yesterday, so out for a further 3 months. I suspect when he's back, he'll get a loan move back up north & eventually leave us, after costing a fortune for 5 games, in wages.
