Pools sign Jonathan Franks, a winger that left us for the bright lights of the SPL two years ago and claimed he was too good for relegation battles, welcome back Jonny :fl:

Sean Raggett is signing for Norwich, who will loan him back to us until January. Fee suggested to be around £250,000 initially, with Dover having a sell-on so likely picking up £50k+.

And he once quoted "I look at some of the players who I played with and how they've kicked on and I think that I must have been as good as them at the time.

"I've always given 100% in my career so It's not like I've done things wrong, so you begin to doubt yourself, you ask yourself whether you are good enough. "But that's football.

Franks's comments were laughable at the time and he definitely contributed to us being in relegation battles by having no end product at all. Now he's back to us with his tail between his legs, wonder if he's using us as a stepping stone to get a big move to someone like Morecambe :bg:

When he does eventually get his game, he'd better make it a good one or the terraces could get very ugly for him and pretty quickly too. He was never a popular figure for the boo boys and the knives are seemingly out already.

Having said that, I'd never wish bad on any signing, he does have a bit of pace which may be useful and offers a slightly different option on the wing to what we already have. Go Franksy go!

An absolutely snip at that.

I was initially unsure about paying £50k for a defender, but he was an absolutely bargain, just like Norwich are getting. Just a shame there had to be a low clause in there, which was one of the conditions of him signing for us.

Wouldn't surprise me if we've settled for a lower fee but a larger sell-on clause or settled for a lower fee so that Norwich take care of a % of his wages while he's here until January. That'd be the cheaper way of doing it from our point of view.

EDIT - Wrong thread.

EDIT EDIT - Yes, Dover fans, it seems like we've agreed a reduced fee to keep him until January. Good for us, not so much for you with your sell-on.

The low sell on clause explains a lot. Couldn't understand why he would sign for Lincoln, especially on a two year deal given his obvious quality. No disrespect intended to Lincoln, but there were far bigger clubs sniffing around him when he signed for you.

Seems like a shrewd move by him and his agent, good luck to him.

Not ideal for us, but if we got £50k more out it then brilliant.

Very pleased with this signing, bit of pace in the side and a wide player too, maybe bring a change in our tactics going forward.

Good signing that prodigal. Extremely quick wide player. His best attribute is his attitude. He puts all in every game, the fans loved him because of that. It meant to us what it meant to him. Good luck matty

Thanks for that, Fyldefan, remember him from his Skem days, very quick and tricky. If his attitude is as you say then Chorley fans will love him too, just what we needed, some pace going forward. Think we might get a result at Boston tomorrow with this addition.

Aberstone yous have signed Aron Pollock on a months loan from us, I presume as stand in until Sellers is fit. Let me know how gets on, was woefully out of his depth at Football League level (most Orient fans would lynch me for saying that) and I'd be very surprised if he makes it at Orient, but I hope he proves me wrong.

I won't. He's bobbins and probably found the level he'll spend the majority of his career at.

Never convinced me either. Michael Clark is better than him and a year younger as well.

He was useless for us and certainly better players than him in our team first time around. Think i saw him take 2 players on during his whole stint, another player who passes backwards

Us fans live in hope they return to the centre stage and outperform themselves, whether that's his plan :pond:

We have released a player already! Billy Whitehouse has left the club. He was on non contract terms and with us having made another marquee signing today had to leave due to budget constraints. Also promises that a number of other players who played today will never play for the club again.

Well jury is very much out that he'll make it at this level based on yesterday's performance.

We've signed Chris Lewington.

Any good Welling/Daggers/Margate/Colchester fans?

He only just retired from football a few weeks ago :conf:
Although he probably will only play Kent Cup matches for us

Pools sign defender Keith Watson on loan from St Johnstone until January, played in Scotland all his career so I've no clue either?
