Yes he’s a Halifax lad so it makes sense. We needed more experience and a leader and he provides that. He’s been on trial in pre season and looked ok but his legs have gone as you say. Will do a decent job at this level still though imo
Leader?! Christ.

I’m aware of how he struggled at Grimsby but don’t discount his influence on previous teams he’s played for at the likes of Bradford, Orient and Huddersfield. He may not be as good on the pitch anymore but he’d be decent enough at this level. He’s a great bloke according to many and is a leader.

Good signing for Chesterfield with the acquisition of experienced striker Marc Antoine Fortune
On paper it’s a belter. Only heard good things about him from his former clubs..

Straight into the squad tomorrow too

Let’s just hope you don’t go on a bad run. Played more games than anyone but managed to be one of the most invisible players on the pitch. Anything in the air he’s fine with but anything on the floor, he’s fucked. He’s surprisingly decent in the opposition box though.

Yep. Garbage on the deck and shit scared of pace. Definitely didn't lead our defence. Cov fans will say the same too. Still, a drop down a division and he might recapture his old form but I am sceptical.

We have signed Tyler Smith on loan from Sheffield Utd for six months - reports suggest he'll score for fun! Let's hope so.

Also a month loan for Wigan midfielder Luke Burgess - any Chorley fans know what he's like?

Clarkey is very much a leader off the pitch. Reckon he’ll end up in management.

Looking forward to Bonne running straight past him a lot, though.

Former AFC Flyde and Salford striker Ritchie Allen has dropped to Step 6 to play for North West Counties Divison One side Longridge Town.

Not another money bags club?

I thought I'd just mention that we have signed triallists Shaun Tuton and Deane Smalley. I think Smalley is on non-contract terms. Tuton played yesterday.

Billericay splashing the cash again.
They've just signed Alfie Potter who was at Mansfield last season.

Craig Disley, having previously been told to find a new club has joined Cleethorpes Town on a season long loan from Alfeton.

Good riddance. Only here for the £££ and throught Alfreton was beneath him.

Disley is currently coaching our Under-16's so if make perfect sense for him really seeing that he still lives fairly locally.

You can never begrudge a player moving to a bigger club either.

I see Mangan has signed for Accrington from Bala Town. Yet another favour for him from a club chairman despite the fact he’s been finished for 5 years, he’s got the best contacts in football.

I can't see him being much use. Bala Town would struggle at Step 3 in the non-League pyramid.

Mangan will still be handy, he knows how to finish. People said he was finished when he went to Shrewsbury (first time) and Tranmere (also first time), yet he scored goals. He’ll need someone with pace and energy alongside him though. Kayden Jackson would have been the ideal strike partner, but he’s gone.

Maidenhead left back Max Kilman signed for Wolves just before the deadline.

Great move for him and he's certainly got the potential to play a couple of divisions higher, though many PL clubs are making signings like this to shore up their U23s.

That now leaves us with only our first choice back 4 and no backup, ignoring our first team coach Ryan Peters who is registered as a player but only used in emergencies. At least two defensive signings needed now.

Massive signing for Gateshead. Williamson was playing in the premier league three or four years ago.
Moors still very light on numbers, hope w can attract a couple of players of that calibre but budget likely means loans, just got to get the right ones
