dugdale and blissett, thats macc out of the title race unless askey can work his coaching magic. Both played for us , both have little to no ability whatsoever but the worst thing about them is they hide when the going gets tough as it invariably does in this division. From what I saw v us and wrexham macc are far too good to be hoofing it up to blissett.

I hope for maccs sake they are bench warmers and for our sake they start every game .

Blissett will be a useful signing, and he must have preferred the town to the mighty centre of Wrexham. Wilson on his way out?
Hopefully not. Blisset is a replacement for gime toure who has gone AWOL recently. I'm guessing he'll be used as an impact player or to give Wilson and marsh a rest. The other two are defensive cover. I'd expect Evans to get a few games whilst hodgkiss is out injured. Not the most exciting signings ever but useful to make up the numbers.

How many points do we need to be first to gaurantee their place in this league next season? That's what those signings look like to me. Quantity over quality. Will be very very pleased to be proved wrong!!

Since you are on 55 points I think you're safe.

Solihull have brought Ty Williams from us. He's currently served 0 games into a 4 match suspension where he got sent off for punching someone while he was on the bench.

Solihull Mooron that should tell you all you need to know because he's not good enough for us so he definitely won't be good enough for you.

Think that is a bit harsh on Nathan. He is not a target man, when we hoofed it up to him it bounced off his head at seemingly random angles and he is no League One starter, but he does have some speed that can utilised and can be reasonably dangerous at the end of crosses in the box. So if Macclesfield use him as a traditional hold up man not sure how well he do for you, but use him as a large striker with a bit of speed facing goal you may get more out of him. I suspect he will enjoy a bit more space and time which will help his control too.

Wrexham have signed Scott Quigley on loan until the end of the season.

Any lurking Blackpool or TNS fans (lol) that can tell us what he's like?

Having him and Jack Storer on the same bench together sounds like it would be bad idea.

Adam Crookes loan extended to the end of the season. Great news, our best and most consistent center back. Could do with two more just like him!

I think Blissett is a decent signing. He was not as bad for us as some people are making out, and never really got a proper run of games. Scored a very good goal at Grimsby I remember, carrying the ball at pace as you describe.

AFC Telford United are delighted to announce the signing of Ellis Deeney from Tamworth for an undisclosed fee. The experienced 26-year-old joins the Bucks on an 18-month deal.

Was only at Rovers for a short loan spell, a couple of years ago. We didn’t see enough to judge either way, don’t think he’s suited to a target man role though.

Not really worked out at Blackpool at all. He's yet to score and in all honesty he's never looked like scoring either. First touch isn't great either. Came with a decent record from TNS and got a couple of goals in Champions League qualifiers, which obviously got his name out there. But there's a huge gap from that level to League One. I wouldn't put it past him netting a few at this level but not to the same extent he did at TNS.

James Roberts extends his loan from Oxford to the end of the season. Really pleased with that, he's been great for us.

We've signed keeper Steve Arnold from Pennock's old club, Gillingham.

Most likely signals the departure of Stuart Moore, who is a good keeper at this level, and we'll probably regret letting go. Maybe he's looking to move back down to the London area.

Louis Briscoe has been too fat for about 5 years now.

Here's a list of clubs Matthew Barnes-Homer has had since that one good season for Macc in 2012/13 (taken from Wikipedia):

Forest Green Rovers
Cambridge United
Tamworth (loan)
Whitehawk
Macclesfield Town (loan)
Macclesfield Town
Aldershot Town
Kidderminster Harriers (loan)
Farnborough
Wilmington Hammerheads
Brackley Town
Kettering Town
AFC Telford United
Halesowen Town (dual reg.)
One good first half to the season! Until he spat dummy out because we didn't let him leave in January! Something like 20+ goals by Xmas, and about 2 more in rest of the season!

Just one example in the endless list of random strikers who turn up at Macc and suddenly start scoring 30 a season out of nowhere. Then go elsewhere and score 1 in 25.
