Looks like Jim O’Brien is training with us, which presumably means he’s open to staying if a takeover ever goes through.

Good player, surprised he’s not been snapped up by a League Two team.

We're signing Byron Harrison. I wasn't keen, but to be fair to him he's applied himself well in the friendlies and looks to be moving more freely than the end of his last spell here. Maybe if he's happy, he'll put in some effort.

not yet - but he's fit well into our style of play and has worked hard pre-season - and as MT says he does look fitter than any time during the last 2 seasons

They took sponsorship for him for the season - he'll probably be announced at today's match.

Desperately looking for positives. He always seems to do okay until he falls out with a manager then just downs tools. Seems friendly with Evatt, but how long he'll be happy playing second fiddle remains to be seen.

Can only assume he fell out with Still immediately after signing as he downed tools in pre-season here.

Maidenhead sign forward Danny Whitehall, who played a few games at this level for Southport a while back but has since been playing lower league football in the US to a questionable standard in Tennessee and Nebraska, most recently for the ludicrously named Bugeaters FC.

He's looked decent in PSFs to be fair, scored today against Kuwait.
Son of Steve Whitehall, who was a consistent goalscorer for Rochdale, Mansfield and Oldham in the 1990s. Was a youth player with Dale, but didn't sign pro terms.

Steve W is a bright bloke with a couple of University degrees. If young Danny has inherited his dad's brains, he was probably at Uni in the States. And if he's inherited his dad's talent, you've signed a good 'un! :)

He's looked OK in PSFs. He went to Hastings College in Nebraska.

We've signed right back Jazzi Barnum-Bobb after a 37 week trial period, thus claiming the crown of best name of the season. He's actually pretty good too. That's our team sorted I'd say.

Expect to see Fondop leave and replaced with another forward.

I'd be happy for him to make his loan here last season permanent and I'm surprised we haven't done so (wage demands?). Our forward line looks some way off NL standard at the moment. Fondop was fine here even not quite the all round CF we need him to be in a 433.

It's not helped him that (apparently) he's come back to preseason training overweight. He's barely featured in the friendlies and didn't get taken to Portugal.

Seems like he's on his way out.

We’ve just announced that we’ve signed Norwich Striker Anthony Spyrou On a season long loan.

From what I’ve seen of him in pre season I’ve been really impressed and he’s different to what we’ve already got.

Now it’s just a wide man with pace we need and the squad looks pretty much set to at the very minimum challenge for the play offs this year

He came to us last season with a decent reputation but he really didn't look physically up to this league. Weak as piss.

I could have sworn Barnum Bobb was on this list:-

They had to cancel that though as OneDecentLester had booked it but then nobody at the bus company could get hold of him for the next 7 months to finalise the arrangements.

Might be tricky for them to win the league this year as Dagenham will have it won by March.
