Another few matches coming up. Looking forward to all but the Peru games, as I'm extremely nervous for both matches. Especially the home match vs Ecuador.

Bolivia - Peru
Colombia - Venezuela
Ecuador - Brazil
Argentina - Uruguay
Paraguay - Chile

Peru - Ecuador
Brazil - Colombia
Chile - Bolivia
Venezuela - Argentina
Uruguay - Paraguay

My predictions

Bolivia 0-1 Peru
Colombia 0-1 Venezuela
Ecuador 2-0 Brazil
Argentina 3-1 Uruguay
Paraguay 2-2 Chile

Peru 2-1 Ecuador
Brazil 1-1 Colombia
Venezuela 1-1 Argentina
Chile 4-0 Bolivia
Uruguay 2-1 Paraguay

The best matches in my opinion are Paraguay - Chile, Argentina - Uruguay and Brazil - Colombia.

Watching Gol Noticias here, reporting that Kun Aguero and Pastore will miss their match vs Uruguay. Surely a chance for Dybala to start?

Vilchez out for Peru against Bolivia.

That Ecuador - Brazil game looks class. Ecuador should win though, I can't see Brazil getting anything in the altitude against the best home team in South America.

That Venezuelan squad is really underrated. Looked totally different under Dudamel in the Copa America than Sanvicente. I think they'll get 1 point at least in the next 2 matches.

Claudio Bravo not with the Chile squad because he's "adapting to his new club". What an awful excuse

And Gol Noticias have finished their qualifier talk. Didn't talk about Paraguay though. They're in the world cup race and have a new manager, so I was interested in hearing a bit about them.

Dybala basically got sent off for trying to win the ball back.

Ridiculous decision.

Peru eh, at this rate you'll never be as big as Leicester City.

No excuse for having lost that. We've been training 3400 metres above sea level to prepare for La Paz and yet we still lost to an inferior team.

You sincerely need to lower your expectations regarding your national team. Just get used to the fact that you're rubbish.

We're awful but I have a right to be optimistic. Especially against a team in poor form.

I think you're failing to understand how hard away games are in South America no matter the team. I'm optimistic although also expecting some realism in case we lose.

I didn't exactly predit you to lose to Ecuador but the result does indeed suprise me. You should thank me though as without my condescending post towards Peru, you wouldn't have won.

It wasn't a penalty I agree but we ran rings around Argentina. We should have won the game, and we drew because we gave Higuain a chance and that's all Argentina need to score.

I've never seen Argentina get battered so much in chances and not lose the game.

Here I am mate. Well done on a fantastic result against Argentina. Still a long way from qualifying but you're not as shit as I thought you were.

How do you think the second phase of the qualifiers will go? Halfway through there's a 4-pt gap between the top 5 and the bottom 5 and I don't think that'll change. Who do you reckon will get 5th? Argentina? Also, what the hell has happened to Chile? They might miss out!

Argentina will get 5th. They are a joke of a national team consisting of Messi's friends only. Demichelis and Romero being on the NT are prime examples of that.

The bigger question is how the hell Chile won the Copa America this year... and how they won it deservedly. Its clear the issue is Pizzi and they were poor at the start of the Copa America but then they clicked for about a week. Then they went back to being shite. They've only won 1 game in the last 7 qualifiers. They have an overrated squad too, Vidal is nowhere near world class and without Medel they are forced to find emergency options who are terrible overall. They called up Lichnovsky who's played 8 games in Europe since 2014 for fucks sake.

As for us, I always try to tell people that we're a decent team but still one of the worst in South America. However the thing is, anyone can beat anyone in South America. Its not like before where Venezuela and Ecuador were the whipping boys. Now every team is at a decent level (except Bolivia but the altitude gets them points at home). I think its too late for us to qualify for the World Cup. I just want Gareca to focus on this new generation of players and hopefully have them become good enough for Qatar 2022.

I think Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina will qualify. Although this world cup will be the worst for South America in a long time, as I've not been overly impressed with any side in these qualifiers. Only Brazil have impressed me. Ecuador have too but they're huge tournament chokers and will probably go out in the groups. Uruguay at home are great but away from home they haven't convinced me and Colombia are rather inconsistent. Finally, the Argentina NT is the laughingstock of South America and could very possibly go out in the World Cup group stages, and at this rate it wouldn't surprise me.

Its hardly a shock. I had a feeling Paraguay would take something from the game, there are so many current problems with this Argentina team, such as Bauza and Messi taking control of the team only wanting his friends called up.

This Argentina side is in my opinion worse than that of the 2010 qualifiers.

Fantastic set of results last night which puts the whole qualifying campaign (bar maybe the top 2 which seems to be destined to Brazil and Uruguay) in a very indecisive position; there are only 3 points seperating Ecuador (3rd) and Chile (7th). At the top, Ecuador and Colombia could only get draws while Paraguay and Chile got the right result in order to keep the dream alive.
Having Argentina not qualify would be quite funny. Is it possible, Lib?
