Proper crazy this isn’t it? River Playe v Boca Juniors was always going to be mad but this is on another level.

First leg at La Bombonera (Boca) went ahead a day late after the original game was postponed two hours before kick off due to waterlogged pitch. It finished 2-2.

Second leg was due to take place last night but the Boca coach was attacked by River fans on the way to the ground. Windows in the coaches were smashed and players actually injured (among other injuries, rumours were of one player getting splinters of glass in his eyes). The police responded with tear gas and one canister made it into the coach which obviously didn’t help either.

Anyway the game was initially delayed as FIFA president Infantino demanded it be played. Boca were obviously not in a state to play and protested. The game was delayed twice before ultimately being put back 24 hours to this evening. Again it was postponed today with no date for the game decided yet.

All nuts frankly and such a shame. The first leg was a brilliant game of football and it’s so sad that the second leg couldn’t take place because of the mindless nob heads who sought out to attack players. I know this fixture has history and intense but surely there’s a line? (Ps I know Boca fans broke this line a few years ago by attacking River players in the tunnel a few years ago)

Bugger! I forgot to record the first leg so I stuck on last night's as I fancied a bit of South American football final that I could watch this afternoon.

Was it down to fan violence again Laker ?

Yeah but on the way to the ground on Saturday and Boca couldn’t stick a full strength side out because of it so CONMEBOL postponed it. Decision being made tomorrow about when it’ll be played apparently but can’t be the weekend because it’s the G20 summit....:animatedf:

River Plate’s fans are stupid - their team pulled off a brilliant away draw in the first leg and now they’ve thrown away their team’s chance to capitalise on that with home advantage. CONMEBOL are 100% right to move it.

They’re talking about holding it in Paraguay but they could hold it in the UAE as the winner plays in the Club World Cup the week after this match is due to take place - could just stay out there?
