Coutinho or Barkley.

Who would you sooner have in your lineup?

Well ones an international and one isn't and one can score from acute angles and one can't .........so on that basis Ross.

I find it staggering how overated Barkley is by such a vast amount of people. People said the same about Lallana when he played for a small club. You can guarantee if Barkley moved to a big club like Liverpool, Chelsea, United then he's suddenly become overhyped in a lot of people's eyes.

I think either could just about sneak into our current starting eleven. Barkley is still learning the game, so I'd have him on the bench. So Coutinho gets my vote.

Coutinho every day of the week. Madness that Rodgers subbed him off yesterday. Potentially cost Liverpool 2 pts. given Moreno's poor showing late in the match.

Good point. Barkley has shown himself to be the very definition of consistency in the last 12 months.
Admittedly, Barkley wasn't great last season but by flakey I meant in a single match situation. Coutinho drifts in and out of almost every match, as opposed to Barkley who is at least capable of taking a game by the scruff of its neck. Coutinho is great when he's playing off the likes of Gerrard, Sterling, Suarez, etc. and Liverpool are 3-0 up at Anfield. Chasing a lead away from home though, not convinced.

Coutinho is probably the most overrated player in the country atm imo. Amazing what a couple of long range goals can do for your reputation.

Barkley last season. 2 goals, 2 assists.

Suffered an injury on the eve of the season though, didn't he? Then played out of position in a struggling side for the majority of it. I'm not saying he is amazing or anything. Barkley 2013/14 was way better than Coutinho 2014/15, though.

Again, Barkley is not good as a second striker/attacking midfielder. He's played deeper this season and been much better for it. If I wanted a centre mid I'd pick Barkley, if I wanted an attacking mid/second striker/number 10 whatever you want to call it, I'd pick Coutinho
