Coventry City have been issued with a formal threat of expulsion from the football league. If they cannot resolve their ground issues soon, the EFL could take drastic action in order to resolve the matter of promotion and relegation; it has yet to be deceided whether an extra club would be promoted from the Vanarsma National,or a league 2 club would be spared relegation.

Think you can guarantee 1 club will be saved relegation.

No chance they'll be expelled.

More news on this .Coventry will today propose a ground-share with local rugby club,in a desperate attempt to avoid expulsion.A new lease on the Ricoh looks impossible. The rugby club capacity is 4000.EFL clubs meet on 25th. St. Andrews share also a remote chance.

Sky Sports have reported they are looking in to the possibility of a ground share at Birmingham City

I'm confused and late to this story. They had a ground, right? Highfield Road, right? They sold it and built a new one, right? How come they don't own the new one? What's it being used for these days?

Ricoh stadium was built with funding from local council, and a charitable trust; it was rented out to Coventry city ,and Wasps rugby club. The club flogged off their only real asset, Highfield Road, for £4 million,in exchange for a rental deal, and a future in the new stadium. Then blew the money in a mad spree to buy on-the-field success. Meanwhile ,the ownership has changed hands, and the rent bumped up,making it unsustainable except with sell-out crowds.
I have been to a couple of games there, it really is the epitome of soulless plastic modern stadiums. Awful, and frankly, good riddance. St. Andrews is a possibility to share, but there is local resistance, and exasperation from EFL clubs, as Coventry city have been homeless for long enough.
The knock-on effect from expulsion could be very interesting...

They made millions when in the Premiership & spunked it away.
I wouldn't bat an eyelid if they went tits up.

I think the likelihood is that they get expelled and put in our league saving the 2nd bottom League 2 team rather than going bust.

I don’t think the National League is under an obligation to accept them if they are expelled.

The EFL in their current state will likely bend their own rules to keep them.
