Third match of the CUFC league right? Camb vs Carlisle (1-2) and Col U (1-0) so far, so I'm hoping Col U win this one if my lot are going to win this quite prestigious league. A 1-0 Col U win will see all three sides with a win apiece, with us and Carlisle top on goals scored :cool1:

How the fuck are we to be top of anything on goals scored?

A Colchester win would set us up for a tantalising 2018, anything will be possible and we will have the very real possibility of all three teams having a chance when the man himself, Jabo, steps up for an 89th minute penalty at Brunton Park in March. Fascinating.

You're not. As Vanni shows, you're second on alphabetical order. - IF you lose 1-0, which you won't.

Glad Tom has found something we might be playing for in March.

We've won the last two away games but doubt we'll get anything here, Colchester are a good home team. 2-0 loss.

At least we'll have two home games in the CUFC league next year, lets hope we've learnt how to score at home by then.

Surely Jabo doesn't take your penalties, that's not his job description.

IF Col U win 1-0
Camb - 3 pts gf 2 ga2
Carlisle - 3 pts gf2 ga 2
Col U - 3 pts gf 1 ga 1

GF 2 is better than GF 1 if GD is the same.
So we're not. I was just commenting that it would be ironic given that we couldn't score in a women's prison with a stack of pardons. Also frustrating that when we discover how to defend, we forget how to score. If we had Jabo and Wyke in our side this season, we'd be up there... or if we'd had Parkes and Hill in our side last season I reckon we'd have gotten automatic promotion if not the title.

First goal is huge. If Colchester get it it's game over. If Colchester don't get it then we'll get a 0-0.

Great win.

We've finally got a competent defence. Fair play to Clint Hill, he's sorted that back 4 out. 3 away clean sheets in a row.

Now if we could just get some better quality going forward so we can actually score at home, we could maybe start to threaten the top half and beyond. But until we address that it will always be one step forward followed by one step back.

Pretty even first half, goal came completely against the run of play as we were dominating the opening of the second. Missed a glorious chance to go ahead but we're really lacking up front with Guthrie out injured and Mandron an inadequate replacement for Porter.

Carlisle nicked one on the break and then did a decent enough job seeing the game out. Let us have all of the play but our final ball is really lacking. The number of times the keeper just caught a cross completely unchallenged was ridiculous.

Good win, 3 in a row away from home. Really need to take some of that form into our home games where we've been very poor this season.

It was a fair comment. Carlisle never threatened once in the first half and the goal was against the run of play.

We have nothing up front. But it's nothing new, I was saying it all summer that we haven't replaced the 30+ combination of Wyke and Ibehre at all. I thought we'd be relegation candidates because of the awful combination of having a shit defence and a toothless attack, but thankfully we seem to have sorted ourselves out at the back which should see us stay clear of relegation trouble.

But our lack of quality in the final third is why we're a bottom half team and will continue to be until we strengthen that area.
