Our performances in the CUFC league this season have been seriously impressive. Who cares about the playoffs, win tomorrow and we will lift the CUFC league title!

Another big home game that we need to be winning really. Carlisle's blistering mid-season surge looks as though it's come to an end and we owe them one a little for probably the worst performance of the season in the reverse fixture.

Bit of a blow for us that Harry Pell, Tom Lapslie and Brandon Comley are all out injured in central midfield. Pell and Lapslie have been the two there all season so it's been good timing to have brought Ben Stevenson back on deadline day. Would expect Diaz Wright to start for just a second time; we're looking quite thin in that department now.

Can’t see anything other than a comfortable Colchester win here.

We’re not a terrible side all of a sudden, we just lack in certain areas due to losing players and not replacing them with similar. Our midfield which was our strength is all of a sudden unbalanced with too many “number 10’s” and not enough other types. On the ball they are good, just no where near as strong off the ball as we previously were. Teams get on top of it quite easily and we get exposed. We don’t have a fit striker. Cullen is still far away from being anywhere near 100%. Our strength of counter attacking with pace is now gone now that our fast players have been replaced by players quite simply not as quick.

We will sooner or later find a way of getting the most out of our new players, because they are good players, but at the moment it’s like a transitional period which will quite probably end up costing us a top 7 finish.

3-0 home win here.

“On the ball they are good, just no where near as strong off the ball as we previously were. Teams get on top of it quite easily and we get exposed”.

I’ve seen Carlisle a couple of times this season and both times I thought they looked decent out of possession, got quickly into shape and they looked organised. They’re having a blip at the moment, which isn’t good timing. Difficult game for both sides today, we’re gonna miss Pell for sure.
It’s tight up there. A win today for either is significant.

When did you see Carlisle?

This was the case up until about 4 weeks ago. Personnel has changed since then and it’s now completely different.

When they played Crewe recently was the last occasion. They were reduced to 10 players fairly early on and perhaps that influenced their shape discipline out of possession.

Even with 10 men they caused problems for the opposition.

We've looked pretty disjointed since Pressley came in. Not through his lack of ability, just because the players who left weren't just good players in themselves, but also we had set up under Sheridan to play to their strengths and so Pressley comes in to a squad that needs reorganising and there's no saying Sheridan wouldn't also have struggled with losing those players, though he would at least already know what he was working with.

We haven't been bad, just struggling to fill a few gaping holes. I think despite our good form in December and January, Pressley's job was never to come in and turn this into an automatic promotion challenge, though we might have hoped it would turn out that way. I think it's clear his job now is to pick up enough points to keep us in the playoff places.

It’s a point more than I expected but it’s still pretty useless really. Need a win to stop this rotten run of form. It will come a time when questions will start being asked of Pressley if he can’t turn things around, especially when you consider the form we were on when he got the job.

Pretty disappointing really. Was a decent enough game to watch, although pretty scrappy. I don't think either side were really at the races, but the tempo was quite good and it made for a reasonable spectacle.

Carlisle edged the first half, we edged the second and a point is probably about right. Oh for some consistency!
