Perhaps slightly strange timing, but on the other hand if they want to re-join the automatic promotion race they need to turn around results quickly. Given the amount of money spent it would be a joke if Derby aren't promoted, everyone has been expecting it, but they have been bottling it for the last few weeks.

Who will come in now Derby fans?
Right/wrong decision?

Surely the amount of money spent would have the aims down as winning the league or at the very least finishing second.

Not sure if Mel Morris is the amazing hero we all expected him to be right now. Very heated decision, unbelieveable.

This is why Football is on its knees. You wonder why the fans are fickle bastards that expect everything yesterday when the owners of Football Clubs can't even give people time anymore.

Who they going for this time, Benitez?

Really harsh - yes they hadn't been winning but looked pretty unlucky on Saturday for example at Fulham.

What a joke, although when spending that much in the championship you should be top of the table.

Pathetic. How about giving a manager time to build his own squad instead of spunking millions on building a Galactico Championship XI?

Apparently he resigned

The head of PE position at his old school was too good to turn down and they promised they wouldn't make him collect the cones anymore

Seriously though... LOL
He was definitely a better tea boy than manager.

Ludicrous, lol lol. Whoever comes in will pretty much need to get things firing from the off or I can see them missing top 6.

Hope he gets another opportunity somewhere soon. First managerial job and he gets sacked at the first real blip. Pathetic.

Anyone who has actually watched Derby recently won't be shocked at all by this.

Sacked for not playing the "Derby way"

Where do I start with that?

Give him £25m of egos who were signed above his head and give him 6 months to get them playing football in a style that no one knows actually exists

The Derby way
