We have a shoddy record away to Derby, so I'd take a draw here. I think they have a few injuries, and haven't completed most of their transfer business yet so we're probably playing them at the best time. As for Wolves we have no new injury concerns, and Cavaliero is back from suspension from the red card he recieved last season, ironically away to Derby. Can see us lining up like:

Ruddy

Coady - Miranda - Boly
Doherty ------------------------- Douglas
Neves - Saiss

Cavaliero ------------------ Jota
Bonatini
Prediction: 1-1. Jota with our goal.

Brilliant result for us.

Nuno has done what many managers have failed to do before for us, fix our defence.

From what I am reading a very good performance, especially second half, from Bright Enobakhe.

The only surprising thing is that Wolves only scored 2. Totally deserved to win, 2-0 flatters us.

We're a good 4 players away from having a decent team and the reality is we're probably going to get 1 maybe 2.

Long old season this is going to be I feel.

Yeah missed some good chances from what I have seen, this feels very different to other seasons. Hope we can keep this up. Great to think we potentially have Costa to come back to this side, and maybe a new striker too from what everyone seems to think. Really hoping this isn't a false dawn so all the pundits slagging us last week can eat a nice big piece of shit pie.

Agree, looked like he had a good game. He passed it in key situations, where last week vs Middlesbrough he wanted to do everything himself and would often lose possession. Hopefully he can keep it up, to be keeping Ivan Cavaliero out the team is very impressive.

Wolves look like they could be a team to beat this year, however they'll have a lot bigger and better performances to overcome than that what Derby came up with yesterday. Extremely poor from us, well short of any creativity or flair, no wide play, 10 corners all met with ease from a Wolves player, to slow in midfield.
Only 27,000 for the first home game of the season to which by recent Derby standards is poor, many disgruntled fans I think not seeing the replacements for Hughes and Ince. I back GR 100% but I fear it won't be long before he has the fans on his back if this doesn't improve fast.

Long time no see, been away for good or lurking?

More the merrier here.

We'll be in-between this season, fully expect us to finish mid table.

Indeed, if we set up like yesterday I can see an away win all day.

Been away for good, young family and all that just been busy...not had a season ticket for a few years and not made many games, but took the plunge again this year to put myself through what was served up yesterday...:ffs:
Ironically, I'm sure I saw Rampride yesterday in the North Stand, blast from the old TFF days.

The reaction from the Derby crowd will be interesting if it is the same set up, particularly if Butterfield starts.

How's Jacob butterfield doing at Derby, when he left to you for 8 mil a few years back everyone was gutted coz he was by far our best player.

Ha, a nice welcome back from good old Derby County then. I've not seen his name mentioned in years so yeah, a proper throwback. Glad to have you back mate anyway.

Yup, I don't think he'll go for more of the same. Sounds as if he's been waiting on Vydra so if he's fit I imagine we'll change it up.

Marmite, he's got some big fans and some really big haters too. I'd say even his biggest fans are struggling to praise him at the moment. Not sure what is up with him, a shadow of the player who banged in 8 in his first season.
Not that we've probably got any takers but I wouldn't mind moving him on and freshening our midfield up.

Ironically he was your POTY and we also signed Bradley Johnson who was Norwich's POTY too.. both are well below par currently. 11 million well spent. :ffs:

Probably over paid for Anya and Vydra as well.

4 million for Anya. What the actual fuck. We've got Nigel Pearson to thank for that one.

Vydra we overpaid but he has genuine quality, if he can stay fit and we can get it out of him more consistently then he could certainly pay some of his fee back. The others I'm not so sure. 4 million Anya, 3 million Blackman, Butterfield/Johnson... terrible recruitment.

I swore I wouldn't come back after the senseless trolling, but the comments in this thread are interesting.

Derby weren't shit at all. The extended highlights show a well-structured team that was maybe a little bit lazy at the back. The stats show an evenly matched game. Unfortunately for you, Wolves were just fucking excellent and have a lot of confidence right now. What is most impressive about Wolves right now is not the front third of the pitch, but the rear third. The highlight of the game for me was Boly chipping two Derby players with a nine-iron. Then watching defensive players making 50 yard inch-perfect passes into the path of a team-mate. This division is won by clean sheets. Watching seven of our players carve through the Derby defence at will suggests that the talisman striker maybe isn't as important as when playing with just 1 or 1 + 1 up front.

Bluntly, and rather arrogantly, this was PL level football. Yes, I'm sure Hull will peg us back and we will come crashing back to reality tomorrow but right now I think Wolves are no longer the dark horse this season. But also I think all is not lost for Derby: they will be up in the top 6 next May. If they learn how to deal with talented wing-backs. Which they will.

Have to disagree HW, I thought we were pretty toothless and very poor in the final third. It was like a throwback to last season; playing this 433 but not executing any of the must do's to make it work. Long balls to an isolated Chris Martin, no midfield runners, incompetent wide players, sluggish defensive play. The stats show an evenly matched game but look at the opportunities both teams had, Wolves really should have been a couple more up. Our best and probably only real chance fell to Russell who disappointed unsurprisingly.

GR has got plenty of time in my eyes but I want to see signs of change and a route forward, I didn't see any of that on Saturday. Granted Wolves were very, very good we still were poor by our own standards. I know there's signings to be made but it's not too surprising when you look at our business; sold our best two players including our top scorer and most creative player in Ince and brought in x3 steady defensive options to add to a defence that was pretty spot on before. Last season the issues were going forward and Saturday still highlighted the fact we're not improved our attack.

I'm not as pessimistic as some Derby fans but I can't see a top 6 finish looking at our current squad and the rest of the division. Have we got enough to finish above the likes of yourselves, Boro, Wednesday, Norwich, Fulham, Reading... I don't think so. I hope so but I'm far from expectant.

I think you are too hard on your team. You probably do need someone fresh up front, but I'd gladly have Weimann back. You could have scored from that double-header late on, you could have scored several times from a number of moves. Ruddy saved us several times. You had no luck (actually we didn't have a lot either!). It was a bad hair day. You'll beat most teams in the division at home this season again. To be honest, after spending all that dosh, I'd be very pissed off if we hadn't made you look ordinary.

Very impressed with Ruddy so far. The few times he has been called upon so far he has been faultless (the missed punch vs Middlesbrough when Braithwaite missed an open goal aside). Considering he didn't cost us a penny he could be our most important signing this season.

Vydra's still got something to offer I'm sure of it, he just needs a consistant run of games. A lot of his general play is really good to watch.
