Despite initially calling for patience with our manager after keeping us up last season, I am at the complete end of my tether with him now. Take your pick from any of his problems, whether it be his ridiculous transfer policy, bad player management, player bingo, ego and determination to blame all but himself, including slating the players in the press, or just the awful, defensive, turgid performances, despite having a huge squad of talented players mixed with youth and experience available.

Never have I wanted us to lose so much as I did on Saturday. I have said this before and not meant it, as usually when I get into the ground my dislike for the manager fades and I get behind the team. Not on Saturday though, I did not even move when we had a couple of chances and left early despite us finally having a spell of pressure. Unlike previous managers where I thought one victory will restore confidence in the fans and the manager this is not the case with Clark. He will continue to piss around with the lineup, the players and the squad. He has a squad of 30 players despite saying all summer that he wanted a small, tight nit squad, and despite ending deadline day with a squad of 30 players he was still talking about more signings in January.

Clark will not learn, he will not change, he will continue to blame the players and point to the team needing to gel when it is in fact him causing the problems. The man is a disgrace, and it is absurd as to how much he rates himself.

We play Rochdale tonight in the Checkatrade trophy. If we were being managed by a normal manager, and even if we were in similar form i'd consider going tonight to get behind the lads for a local derby, not a cat in hell's chance though, and that seems to be the consensus with alot of our other fans as well. I hope we get annihilated tonight and again on Saturday

So have any other fans got to that point before where you simply want your team to lose, if so who with and why?

Great post. This man is a clown, take Thompson with you and get out of our club. Most clueless manager we've had. I never want us to lose deep down, but tonight and Saturday I do then hopefully he will be gone. He spouts bullshit in every interview. Blames everyone but himself. Put Brass and Lowe in charge in the short term. Get rid Mr. Day now.

Whilst I've never wished a loss on my own side, I can certainly understand where you're coming from.

C'mon Bury, get your shit together. :(

Came close to seriously wishing we'd lose during the middle of last season so Coyle would finally get the boot.

And Kean in 2010/11 and 11/12, that didn't work either, the man was unsackable.

Closest I've gotten was the latter stages of Van Gaal's second season, I was just absolutely sick of the cowardice and tedium offered at that point.

I didn't actively want them to lose, obviously, but I wasn't disappointed when we did as it brought us one step closer to actual attacking football.

I recognize that it makes me a bit of a spoiled supporter, and I can't argue. I started watching United in 91-92, so it's all I've ever known.

Want us to lose every checkatrade trophy match until we are out, we are far too big for that mickey mouse joke tournament.

A bit like most United fans, started 'supporting' them around the time they actually started getting good and started winning things, what a coincidence eh?

I've never wanted us to lose. I've not been bothered if we lose before but never wanted us to lose. Would have to say the manager I most disliked during my time watching City was Colin Todd as it was at the time I was travelling up and down the country to watch us and he simply wasn't bothered about getting results, a 1-0 loss was a decent result for him at certain places, even then I never wanted us to lose.

Well, considering I was born in '88, yes. My family are all reds and I'm just lucky to inherit that one season before it went sublime.

I'm not one of them entitled babies though, the club doesn't have a divine right or duty to win anything, it does have a duty to entertain though.

I just want to see us go for it, even if we don't get there. I want to see us attack, we didn't under LvG.

Never wanted us to lose, but we've been so indescribably shit for the last 21 months that yet another defeat elicits very little emotional response any more, defeat is now the default result and anything else is a bonus.

How was the rough season when you were three years old? Did you tear up your season ticket and consider giving it all up?
