Huge game for both sides, and contrasting form it seems.

Exeter 1-4 Mansfield
Cheltenham 1-1 Exeter
Macclesfield 3-2 Exeter
Exeter 2-0 Port Vale
Exeter 1-3 Crawley
Stevenage 1-1 Exeter

Latics 2-0 Grimsby
Latics 2-0 Tranmere
Colchester 0-2 Latics
Latics 2-2 Swindon
Cheltenham 0-0 Latics
Latics 3-2 Mansfield

TEAM W D L S C P
EXE 1 2 3 8 12 5
OLD 4 2 0 11 4 14

It only continues to reinforce my belief the quality in this league in general is dire, given that somehow Exeter are still in 7th despite winning 1 in 6.

Slight change in team for me than the one that beat Mansfield yesterday, and we could well have scored 5 instead of 3. JBE in for COG and Lang up top. Baxter on the bench.

Iversen

Hamer - Clarke - Edmundson - Iacovitti

Missilou - Sylla

Branger - Maouche - Nepomuceno

Lang
Playoffs are amazingly in our own hands now, so this absolutely must-win, which would then set us up for the midweek game in hand at Newport.

Exeter 1-2 Latics (Lang & Nepomuceno)

600 Latics.

Huge game for both teams, this. When we last met in December it was looking like Oldham would be a play off team but our win seemed to know you back a bit.

Both teams have to win, really so not sure if it will be ridiculously open, or very cagy. The new boss has been doing really well and Callum Lang is a threat up front, so will be tough for us if we continue to be weak at the back.

Going forward we’re looking better now that Ryan Bowman has 4 goals on 4 games plus Randell Williams and Lee Martin both produced a great performance yesterday so they should keep their places in attack.

Should be a good crowd if Oldham bring 5-600...It may even tip 6K, or at least be very close to that.

I am going to be optimistic and say we will win this 3-2. Law and Bowman x 2.

Will be good if 600 Oldham fans do turn up, that would be a record for our 'new' away end.
We normally get a result when we need to, and I'd like to think the players know how to start a game now, rather than be dire for 30 minutes like they were against Crawley.
I can see us winning this to take it into the final day for us. 2-1 with Law and Bowman

Still not getting excited. Newport and Exeter away are 2 very difficult games.

What I have got confidence in now though is wilds ability to tactically manage a game. We don't conceded many, and what he did with mouche yesterday was genious. There's a willingness to adapt to the opposition and it's working.

Game at a time, on paper every game is winnable, and this is no different. Have to go for another latics win.

2-1

Lang
Clarke.

Can't see 600 travelling, but it will be more than the usual on any given match day travelling that far. 400 my guess

Hurrikeen's boycott still going strong I see ;) Oldham are on a great run though, I can see them scraping into the play off spot. Tranmere Oldham at Wembley would make a fantastic play off final, but it'll probably be MK Dons V Forest Green in one of the most hated games of football of all time. State of it...

Tbh bud, I’ve not been to a single game since I said I wouldn’t. Don’t want to put a penny in that prick’s pocket.

That being said, not sure I could stay away from an away playoff leg should we miraculously make it.

Tranmere v Latics would be mega for the final though, I’ll give you that.

Although we have been notoriously unpredictable this season, I think we will win this one, we obviously need to, there's lots riding on it, and current form will go out the window. Fair play to Oldham for turning things round recently

Its do or die for us, so I think you may see some strange tactics if we need a goal in the last 5 minutes. Keeper up for corners, 4 strikers on the pitch, that kind of thing

Cog, Lang, Baxter, the lad from West ham, and probably Clarke playing the big no 9 roll as well

Reading between the lines on our forums there's more travelling to this than I expected so ya might be right with 600+.

It's nice to have some positivity about the place for once, and even if we lose here, I would still back wild for the job in summer. To get us this far is an achievement in itself given we were so low before he came back in.

Basically the first goal is crucial tomorrow. If we score first then Oldham have to come at us, which could see a few gaps appear for us to exploit.

However, if we concede first, I can see Oldham stifling us and we will struggle to break them down and lose 1-0.

Christ sideways, our keeper's injured.

His replacement is called ZEUS DE LA PAZ, best name in the league, but how's his goalkeeping??

Needed the 3 points to stay in the running. Newports surprising victory over Lincoln is a bit worrying though!

From where I was stood there is no way that is a foul for the free kick leading to the goal. Sick of dog shit referees.

He was crap all game so good to hear he was consistent.
Think we deserved that with all the chances in the second half, just hoping in vain you can motivate yourselves for Tuesday

Oldham were decent first half and Pym made 2 or 3 great saves while we huffed and puffed a bit, but didn’t play badly either.

Second half was the reverse, we got going and created some good chances. Not sure how Boateng hit the post from about 4 inches, but he did. Randell Williams had a great game and caused lots of problems with his pace. Think it was his header that was saved only for Bowman to head home to get a crucial win for us.

Was impressed by Callum Lang and Sylla in midfield was good too. Peter Clarke was a bit of pleb though, constantly fouling players and somehow getting away with it.

Great away support from Oldham though. Good numbers and sang through out. Suspect they will be up there next season.

We now just have to hope Newport drop points in the week and it’s in our hands on the final day.

Oldham fans were the best to visit the park this season. Fair play to them. Very vocal.

yes , they were on good form , pity the strong wind was in the wrong direction for most of the match so I doubt we were heard at their end much although when the wind dropped for a bit and we scored the roar was heard a mile away down over the river at St Thomas apparently.

Putting the roof on the away end is undoubtedly the best thing to happen to the atmosphere at SJP since the rebuilding of the Big Bank.

Hopefully more teams bring vocal support next year. It is a really good away venue now, easy city center location, nice social club and now we've got a decent away terrace with good atmosphere and view of the pitch. Hopefully this inspires more people to make the journey.

We have always had good away support. We have been that shit over the last 20 years or so people see an away day on the beer as a relief from the crapness of home games
