no offence bruv but it was only stevenage when we got battered 3-1 under pardew because he arrogantly pissed about picking youth players.

we haven't taken the cups seriously in years and it's good to see the manager at least trying to win something, as slim as our chances may be.

Oh a wins a win even with a little help from the officials.
Should've got more help when Holgate didn't pick up anything for the assault on Firmino, or Rooney being fortunate not to get a second yellow.

The Mirror has used a lip reader for the Firmino/Holgate incident and he found no evidence of racist language. If this holds up then surely Firmino should do the little **** for slander? Also if the ref was in the middle of it and heard any of the n-word variations which doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what was said even in Portuguese; then surely he'd have instantly dismissed Firmino and the reasons given would already be out?

Unless the lip reader has access to another camera angle, I don't think it's conclusive. I read the initial comment from Firmino was that he called Holgate a son of a bitch after asking if he was crazy. But what set Holgate off was a comment made when Firmino's face was obstructed by Kenny's head on the BBC's camera footage.

Hopefully it's nothing and Holgate misheard or made something out of nothing. But with the referee so close we will find out.

Exactly, G.B!!

@ "It was only Luton...." response from mm.Don't underestimate them. Luton is actually top of League 2

On the other side: Aston Villa....my Arse. I lost all my £2000 @oakroader 's FA Cup Predicta....and it was only against Peterborough

Later this evening I'll watch Forest vs Arsenal. It's shown live here at Eurosport.

Well I was hoping for a West Yorkshire derby in the 4th round, with both of our neighbours playing League Two sides.

It would appear they're both rather shite.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

Was a cracking game of football, so much action and controversy plus the underdog was victorious. Great stuff.

Well, we held off Spurs for 62 minutes and a lacklustre L1 team losing 3-0 to a high flying Prem team is no disgrace.

Apart from after the goals, there didn't seem to be much noise from the Spurs supporters whereas a lot of ours sang throughout the match.

Right. So I presume you hold the same view on Calvert-Lewin from last month's league game? Both were soft penalties, and both Calvert-Lewin and Lallana went down from contact but could have stayed upright had they chosen to do so.

not seen that one so have to take your word for it but i did google just and most people say that one was a pen. I just thought it was an unfair decision that's all as i watched the game.

Palace got a stronger team than Brighton out?

FA Cup draw:

Liverpool v West Brom
Peterborough v Fleetwood/Leicester
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Notts County v Wolves/Swansea
Yeovil v Manchester United
Carlisle/Sheffield Wednesday v Stevenage/Reading
Cardiff/Mansfield v Manchester City
MK Dons v Coventry
Millwall v Rochdale
Southampton v Watford
Middlesbrough v Brighton/Crystal Palace
Bournemouth/Wigan v Shrewsbury/West Ham
Hull v Nottingham Forest
Newport County v Tottenham
Norwich/Chelsea v Newcastle
Sheffield United v Preston

Some clear cut TV ties there.

Saints away for us - playing them Saturday so one will win then and the other in a few weeks!

Some superb ties there, one of the best draws in a long time!

Any other year, Notts County Vs Swansea/Wolves would be a great watch, but it’s been totally blown out of the water by the obvious.

Congrats to Newport and Yeovil! That’s now 2 of our rivals this season playing Utd at home... No bother, we had West Ham U21’s in the pot Trophy

Chelsea v Norwich is the BBC pick of the replays - so they can show that Zola back heel flick from about 2002 again?

They usually pick an all Prem game but none of them seem that inspiring so hopefully they’ll stick the County game on. Liverpool v West Brom would be so dull!

Brighton are 1-0 up at half-time. Hodgson is playing a very defensive 451 with a LB playing LW (van Aanholt) and 3 CMs with very limited technical ability taking the ball forward (Cabaye, McArthur and Riedewald). Sako is the only player interested in doing something for the visitors and it just isn't enough. Fair play on Brighton who don't really need to push on for a 2nd such is Palace's lack of threat. Their bench is horribly uninspiring too. Looks like Hodgson doesn't give two shits about bowing out of the Cup to the club's bitterest rivals (not having a go at him there, nowt wrong with prioritizing Premiership status and financial stability over a game but I doubt the fans will be too impressed with that).

Not really looking forward to the second half.

Has VAR been used at all?

Doesn't sound like a great game.

EDIT: Dramatic ending though.

The guy that was monumental in getting us to where we are as a club now dumps us out of a meaningless FA game, I won't lose any sleep over it.

BT desperate for the VAR to be brought into discussion, brushed his arm but you can't rule that out ffs
