Not a great draw, but decent enough. It's kind of a bit disappointing that we'll probably go out and won't make too much off it. Not gonna grumble about an extra London away day though. Anyone got any idea about what our allocation will be?
Seen 3700 mentioned in a couple of places.

Would have hated to go to Selhurst again, think I have seen Lincoln at least three times there, it's a terrible place to get to on a coach as Croydon is one huge ball ache with traffic, but it's still a lot better than some of the draws.

As for Everton, seeing as we haven't played many top flight teams away, I am happy with the draw. Already went to see us play them 25 years ago when big Nev was in goal for the Toffees. I expect 5-6000 Imps if we get given that many tickets.

2900 just been mentioned by GB in the shoutbox, who went there with Newcastle. Would we take 3k all the way down there in Jan? Wasn't planning on going to too many matches over Christmas but might need stubs. I can't remember how we usually do stubs, is it always home stubs or do they make us have away stubs if it's for an away game?

We should take a couple of thousand to Fulham as it’s a new ground for a lot of us.

They’ll probably rest most of their team too given that they’re in the shit in the league.

Happy days as far as I’m concerned.

Great ground, you'll have a good day out there.

I am delighted with the draw! Pretty much perfect for me now I'm based in Liverpool. Hopefully Everton will give us a decent allocation (I can't see them being that bothered?). I really don't want to be in a rat race to get tickets.

As mentioned above, not a bad little earner. Should be at least £300k, but hopefully closer to £500k.

Yeah I reckon we’ll take between 2000 - 2500 although I always seem to underestimate our away support so maybe more?
Just checked my rota and I’m working 4th 5th 6th and 7th of Jan which is a shame as I’d have liked to have gone.

I don’t want to get too excited as there’s a massive chance we’ll get beat at Southport, but Tottenham at home is massive. A full 15k in the ground, probably on tv, it’s the difference between lower mid table and a promotion push.

Palace away is not a bad draw. We’ll a good following for sure.

How lucky do Lincoln get?
Okay, I'll bite. When have we got lucky before? Arsenal? It was the quarter final to be fair! If it wasn't them, there's a good chance it would have been Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham etc.

So we missed out on Sheffield Wednesday away, am I arsed? No.

One of those where it’s against a big club but not quite big enough to entice many casuals out, and we’d get soundly beaten.

It could be a sell-out at Haig Avenue next week as well. There will be a lot more interest from Southport fans with the prospect of playing Spurs, and we will sell pretty much as many as they give us.

With regard to Lincoln at Everton, I would guess the Imps will get 6,000 tickets, like us in 2001. I think the way the segregation works in the Bullens Road stand you either get 3,000 or 6,000.

I think 15% is the away allocation for FA Cup (if it is practical to do so) which sounds like we'll get 6,000 as 3,000 wouldn't meet the 15%.

I'll take an away day at Goodison- not seen the Imps there so another one for me too.

Our 2nd round replay is now on a Monday.

How bad are Notts County atm? Can we afford to rest players of our already injured ravaged squad there? Seems quite likely we will, ready for the mighty Southport :err:

Yeah it’s 15% unless the home team/police can’t guarantee the safety of the away fans with such an allocation. Arsenal, among others, have used this excuse to give less than 10% to smaller clubs on occasion. Knobs.

I'd heard that about Arsenal but somehow they gave us 9,000 for the 5th round season before last! Guess it is all speculation until it is announced

And they've done before they gave Watford a similar amount for a cup tie the previous season.
Good draw, hopefully a decent crowd and has been mentioned we'll get a decent allocation of 6000 ish.
Went in 93, my first away day at a top flight club so be good to return but this with my daughter.

Not just smaller clubs affected and seems to be quite hit and miss.

When we played Man U away on a Wednesday evening, they forced us to buy tickets in batches of a thousand and we then balked at going beyond 6,000. So that was way under 10% too technically and it was ultimately a sell out.

The big clubs find their ways to restrict away attendances if they need to.

I bet those 9000 fans felt fucking stupid when they arrived at the Emirates on 5th round day only to find out that Lincoln we’re playing at Turf Moor instead.

They did- which explains why I shouldn't drink and drive a PC at the same time.

We had to do similar against Arsenal.

I think we got around 5,000 and we had to bulk buy the other 4,000 and cover the cost of any unsold tickets.

I think some of what I said is down to our general bad luck with draws. You’ve managed to secure probably the 8th most-lucrative draw out of 64, whilst already sitting on a hefty wallet and sitting on top of the league 2. I can’t really complain at drawing a lower-half PL team though!

Still think it will be a good day out for you- and any opportunity for giant killing is always there

Palace fans seem to think there won't be any more than 13k-15k in the ground, so although it could have been a lot worse, it is ultimately a tad disappointing from a financial point of view (we'd make as much or more if we were playing half the championship clubs away). Our players will be buzzing though to pit themselves against international players, even if it probably won't be the usual starting XI. I'd be surprised if we take more than 2500 but with a bit of form between now and then, who knows. Weekend in that shithole should be fun though. Chance to catch up with some family too.

Yeah that was kind of my initial reaction to the draw, but never been to Selhurst Park though and as a current resident of that shithole I'm happy for the extra local game. Part of me wanted Brentford when they were drawn out the pot as a home team and we still weren't out.

I think you have to look at it in context - it could have been Swansea or Cardiff etc away with less than 10k there, you’d likely have lost and it’s even further away. But I do get it is always a little underwhelming when you want someone like Arsenal away and you get Palace instead.

My take on getting Palace in the draw is, last year we got drawn away at Plymouth and went out 1-0, so it could have been a whole lot worse.

Yep, both very true. I'm pleased with Palace, don't get me wrong. Could have been a lot worse for sure. Last time we got to the 3rd Round we got a quite good Championship Huddersfield too, so this is much better than that.
