Don't think its common sense at all. Got a far bigger game this weekend at home to Crawley. Now, we're faced with playing them on short rest whilst they've had a whole week off. Not to mention if the game goes into extra time as well.

Unless the FA insisted we had to try and get the game played this week, we should have moved it back a week.

But wouldn't that be a game on the 19/20th? on top of games on 23rd, 26th, 29th and the 1st?

FFS Montano suspended after a red for Saturday now and having to play 45 with ten men. Thought the last man rule was changed if a penalty!

Now down to 9 men! We’ve thrown this tie away but worse now have two suspensions and a knackered side heading to Carlisle. Sub Pope, Worrall and Whitfield and save their legs.

Sounds as though we’ve lost our heads and could see more off. Pope booked.

So proud... we go to extra time, 9 men for forty minutes, took our three best players off around half hour left in Pope, Worrall and Whitfield to rest for Saturday and score to go to ET! Superb effort from the lads!

If we’re going out at least we’ve given it a go.

We are an absolute disgrace. If there were more of our fans at Huish Park tonight (I don't blame them for not paying money to watch that festering pus of a performance) then there may well be a riot. The atmosphere is that bad, it's toxic. How we have conceded two goals to a team with nine men who are - no offence - as bad as us is beyond comprehension.

40 according to our twitter feed so will have to see it.

Fucking trojans, 9 absolute trojans tonight! 75 minutes down with 9 men, an hour with our three key men subbed off and a keeper error (again!) all that beat us.

Got to take that fight into the league and we will cruise to safety.

9 hero’s. 2 idiots.

Should of got the job done with ease at Vale Park so the bans and the extra time with so long down to 9 men is annoying and a problem. Hopefully Carlisle freezes over again!

well we won't be playing ours this week as Gillingham are playing on Friday, so next week for us.

MK Dons did that to us once. Also Stevenage, that was when Westley was their manager, I don't think it was so late the fans had already gotten there but late enough. Remembered mainly because it was the result of some skullduggery on Westley's part. We were in the L1 promotion battle with them and we were on good form while they had a couple of injuries. Somehow, by some totally uncharacteristic oversight on the part of the Stevenage groundstaff, they didn't pull the covers all the way across the pitch and come the morning the pitch was unplayable just in one corner that had been left uncovered. Westley feigned annoyance at his groundstaff and said how fired up for the match his team had been and denied that this had all been very convenient for him.

Stevenage beat us in the rearranged match.
Good to see your not still bitter about it...... :shifty:

Yeah the Vale twitter got a bit excited on the live commentary!

A third keeper error in three games to give Yeovil a key goal this season which is frustrating but sums up the situation Brown left us in with a rookie keeper.

Fans were furious with the red cards, and the players especially Pope and Whitfield who were booked for decent after the second so had to be taken off before sent off also, first viewing the first their lads gone down arms out and legs out like he’s on the ballet but seems he was out muscled.

Second one is hard to tell, the Vale fans were in front of it and were adament it wasn’t a red, the Yeovil player was running around like Usain Bolt seconds later after appearing to break his leg in multiple places in the video or having been electrocuted looking at his reaction but can’t really see, there’s three going for the same ball. Oddly Gibbo’s second red of the season both at Huish Park... big loss for four games.

The lads have won the hearts of the fans back after last night though and long term we can be far more positive showing Aspins fight, to play that long with nine men (drew 2-2 during that 70-75 minutes with 9) away from home and with the big three subbed off was brave and valiant indeed.

Need to show that fight and belief to keep going in the league and we will survive, I image our fans are feeling a lot more positive this morning than our fellow relegation rivals Yeovil that’s for sure and that psychological victory can only be good as long as we analyse it correctly as a team.

That was the worst win I can ever remember from a morale point of view. Our fans are rightly furious that we nearly threw it away.

It was our lowest crowd for a FA Cup home game for over 30 years as well.

Last year we booed our lot off after beating Stevenage 1-0 despite us both having 11 men... main thing is getting through I guess but our fans are prouder this morning than after that win!

Only if an attempt was made to play the ball (not seen the challenge).

Absolutely gutted to go out like that, but fair play to Exeter you did well with 10. Good luck v the Baggies.

Manny made it 5 reds in our last 6 games which is all we need, we already had such a young threadbare squad available last night and have now got yet another player out, have played extra time ending in a gutting defeat and now have got Luton on Saturday. Good times.:ffs:

We'd not had a red or many cards at all for ages prior to this run IIRC, seems an odd turnaround. Couldn't drag myself out of bed a silly o'clock local time to listen last night but sounds like a shame we couldn't kill the game when we had the man advantage.

Have your players found that what's acceptable in non-league challenge wise isn't quite the same in the league - we noticed this when we came back up.

Not sure it's that. tbh I might have the card count round my neck but I thought we were doing pretty well in the early league games on that score (while getting battered in the bit that matters)

The first Vale sending off was harsh a yellow would have been fair but no arguing about the second red.

What a goal for the Kay equaliser!!. It almost feels like we won this morning, and our fans seem much happier than Yeovil's.

Onwards and upwards.

The stats would seem to back that up, 0 reds last season 5 already this season.

Refs definitely seem to get their cards out more quickly at this level, and as we found out a couple of weeks back retrospective bans are a lot more likely as well, seen plenty of stuff go unnoticed in non-league that was far worse then what Bennett did to Moxey, pushing him in the back of the head, but still the FA clamped down on it.

Kay says that's the best goal he's ever scored.

More than likely, hes generally a centre half or defensive midfielder! He does have a good career goal records (not sure if on pens for a previous club).

Westley would've never in a million years done something like that.

Definately not.

Never.

No chance.

well, maybe........
