we're through... Yey. Pretty good performance in parts actually if you forget about our lethargic start to the second half that saw Gillingham score or the fact we just sat back for the whole second half even though we did so relatively competently.

The big difference was Jamie Devitt, he has to start against FGR and Accrington now. Also Hallam Hope being back up front where he belongs, he was heavily criticised against Vale but he was on the left then. He's not a natural out and out goal scorer by any means, like Jabo was but he's a competent one, which is the best we have.

Nice to get through and have a cup game to look forward to, should be a decent crowd for Wednesday at home.

Curle's record in the cups in his time here has been impressive with a fair few wins against higher league opposition, be nice for another one in January.

I was in the Paddock tonight... Since it's a cup match and I'm not using my season ticket I thought I may as well give it a go.

Unusual place, it's like a foreign country. About the most excited people got was when a Gillingham player got booked for diving. Second half I was stood in front of what I presume to be either an east end market holder, or one of Chas and Dave. You do get a different perspective on things when you're on the side though compared to behind the goal.

I thought it was a really good performance. Gary Liddle was the best player on the pitch. Their goal was well worked to be fair and we could have scored at least 1 more with Hope hitting the post.

Agree about Devitt. With Adams out it’s up to Devitt to be that creative spark along with Lambe, so they both have to start.

Curle will no doubt go back to his Park the bus league tactics, even though we’re playing against bottom of the league.

Luton have already sold nearly 6,000 tickets for their game at Newcastle. Today was the first day of general sale.

If we sell out the initial allocation for Carlisle are we likely to get anymore?

Yes. Your initial allocation will be for a couple of blocks in the east stand. If you sell all that in plenty of time I’m sure you’ll get the terrace behind the goal as well which is an extra 1,800 or something, and then if you sell that they could narrow the segregation in the east stand, freeing up 500ish more seats.

Spot on, expect with the pricing it'll sell out quite easily.

I think the trick to getting the Waterworks End is selling out quickly. Because it's a stand we usually don't open at all they'll need to arrange extra stewards for it, and I don't know what they do for refreshments and toilets in there but whatever it is, they probably need to make the decision to open it in sufficient time before the match.

We're on a run and well supported and I'm sorry to do a "big up our support" Kenny style post - but.......7,000 going to Newcastle next weekend is just unreal - biggest away following at their Ground in the Modern era.............. Hats off to you all. Lets hope we do ourselves justice

Biggest away following of ours that I can remember certainly, know we've taken 5,000+ a few times (and often could have sold more were there tickets to accommodate) but I think this may beat our own record not including finals of cups/play-offs etc.

Shame they can't give us a bigger allocation really as the demand is clearly still there (sold out the extra 1,000 in a day more or less) whilst I doubt the home ends will be more than two-thirds full on the day. Either way, going to be a cracking night out afterwards for those of us staying up there :bdick:

Had no idea we would sell that amount. Had it been a London game or even Liverpool or the Manchester clubs then fair enough but Newcastle!? Quite amazing support. A case of many who want to be reminded of days gone by perhaps. I read that Newcastle has only 3 pubs for away fans. They might need to look at that. Our fans are a thirsty bunch. :gr:

Got an extra 500 behind the goal at the minute.

It’s quite surprising but I guess it’s a while since we had genuinely big club away in the cup, so it’s caught the imagination somewhat. I guess the last was probably Norwich but we had only been playing them in the league a few seasons before hand.

You also have to say fair play to both clubs for setting the price at a tenner for an adult. I suspect if it were double that, as I sort of expected, then would have given people pause for thought on going

If we’d got one of the big London clubs the demand would have been insanse I suspect!

But there could be people who want to go, who won't be able to go despite the fact there will be 1,000s of empty seats. I find that pretty poor at any level and in any sport.

Looking forward to our game against Sheffield Wednesday, it'll be the only big away following at Brunton Park this season (unless we progress and hit lucky) and should be a few more home fans than normal. Hoping for a good atmosphere to match but with both teams having poor seasons, probably not.

I think they've got a few injuries so may give us a chance, though with not much to play for in the league they might fancy a cup run themselves.

I think we could get ripped to shreds on Saturday if PNE have any pace and decent finishing quality up front. Defensively we're down to the bare bones.

The only hope is if they don't fancy it and get annoyed with all our niggly fouls and timewasting.

Not looking forward to our game at Brentford, little chance of progression, a small crowd, cold and wet.....

We're going to get mullered at home to Bradford. Two suspended (pending appeal on one), 5 loanees who could leave and a couple of long-term injuries leave us very short of options.

Same for us at home to Preston Mate, with 5 defenders out injured we'll be lucky to only let in 4 goals with midfielders having to play in defence. :ffs:

Sold 800 tickets for brentford so far genuinely surprised as within a month we will have morecambe Swindon Brentford Lincoln and Cambridge away. Don't expect anything from this game would be delighted with a replay.
