Mildly optimistic for this one after a decent showing v Lincoln last week. Really tough but I’m hopeful that probably the hardest midfield duo we have had since Bish and Ravenhill in the munto season and a fully fit attacking unit can overcome any deficiencies we may still have in defence.

Would happily take a draw, and I’d take the same again v Stags next week ahead of a kinder run of fixtures.

Your optimism based on scraps is admirable Wooderson . It’s a shame we are playing two in form and quality L2 sides next . Those defeats to Macc and Cambridge will come back to haunt us come end of the season

6/1 currently for an away victory and you can get 3/1 on the draw , may I suggest you bet the double chance

Complete reverse to this fixture last season. Both sides have switched in terms of League position although Notts are far far worse off.

Confident as I will ever be, the team is good enough to get something from the game. Few fellow Pies opting to take 2 points from the next 6. That's not good enough it will. Mean we'll need 7-8 wins from 13-14 games.

We have to go for wins in both, get at um, the strong midfield and the new defence should help us going forward.

We have to win this really as I can't see past a draw next week so 2-1 Notts.
Noble.... Oh yeah... I forgot.

Reuben Reid seems to be getting back up to speed, Hope unexpected layoff last weekend hasnt set him back, him and Doidge are a great partnership. Think Reece Brown just been listed as most assists in division too, so we're well set bar the goalie situation after Monty got clattered, but young stand in is competent.

How is your keeper? Saw the pic after our draw, looked nasty, though obviously the challenge wasn’t malicious either. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Think he'll need a fair bit of dental work, but he seems chipper, was Cracking jokes about injury on social media

FGR draw lots at home. Don’t want any more false dawns. So draw it is thanks.

We love a 1-1 at home and Notts finally seem to be improving going on their performance v Lincoln (as they bloody well should with all that quality in their squad) so can see this being another draw unless we're bang on it. On paper they've got one of the strongest squads in the league, a lot stronger then ours and they spent well in Jan so if they bed the new players in quick and it all clicks they're a massive threat.

Might see Doidge and Reid start together for the first time in a while, could do with Rueben's experience and physical presence especially given the weather and pitch not being great. Gonna be a battle.

Needed a couple of minor ops above his eye and lip + lost 6 teeth. On the mend now though and as JF said happy to banter about it now. He's a top lad.

Reid is one of many lower league strikers who always seem to score against us.

On paper we have a good team, stronger than the team that started the season and all terrible runs come to an end at some point so I'm hoping for a win.
We now have key players back from injury and with eight new players and a week to work on things there should be a better mindset.
6/1 for the win, very long odds on a two horse race. 3-1 win, feeling insanely optimistic after seeing a team that behaved like a competent Div 2 team for once.

We'll see just how much we rely on checking out the opposition before a game. As County have eight new signings that won't be possible. We're shit at home, so god knows what to expect, shouldn't be settling for a draw but we seldom win at home so 1-1.

Doidge and Reid up front it is, like the look of the line up with Digby starting too, though as has been pointed out we've been underwhelming at home.

Said I liked the line up but it's a back four which seemed like we've forgot how to play as Notts Cutting through for fun for first few mins and.squandered couple of great chances. We've sort of got going since but nothing too outstanding by Sounds of it and Notts had more chances themselves. Commentators keep on about us squandering wind advantage, see if that is a factor second half.

Oof, weirdly seemed like County could have scored a number of times first half and didn't then took pretty much only chances they had second, though tbf young Ward made a couple more good saves to add to his collection from first half. We can't break teams down at home, he was busier of two keepers and looks like pushing on for autos was a pipe dream.
ETA Mind if Williams hadn't been offside when I thought we'd gone ahead might have been a different story.

Our best performance of the season by a mile, only disappointment is we didn’t kill it off a lot earlier.

We look a completely different team and, I suppose, we sort of are. O’Brien and Doyle in central midfield are immense.

I look at Doyle and O'brien and think (tinpot) Gerrard and Lampard, it's shouldn't work but it does. Both tough, loud and imposing but really work off each other well.
Glad Enzio got a goal and sure he will now start chipping in with a few.
Massive result and, ahem, I predicted.
Already thinking of next week and I think we might just nick it!

Apart from the fact that Gerrard and Lampard didn’t actually work :dis:

I’d say O’Brien and Doyle are more Scholes and Keane than Lampard and Gerrard. Either way, great win and staying up is obviously now just a formality.

We were due a win and we're overdue a win against the Stags who have stuttered a bit recently.
Hope a few of you lumped on at 6/1 today might be worth a few quid on us next week too.
The spine of that team is now way stronger. Good centre half pairing, good centre mid pairing and stronger options up front.
