First time these two teams have met in a League match although many Rover fans remember watching FA Cup match while standing in the open during a torrential downpour. And to compound their misery they lost game.
The match on Friday will be televised live on Sky.
From checking over the predicta league it seems Swindon are firm in belief that they will have an away win. Looking at the tables, Swindon 8th & FGR 22nd, that seems to be a fair forecast. Even on the FGR forum, Swindon are considered favourites to win. And of course being a fairly local game, Swindon will be bringing along plenty of noisy support.
But, and it is a big but, FGR are playing better than their league position indicates. Unfortunately they continue to make basic individual errors which our opponents have pounced upon. Eliminate those silly errors and FGR are equal to most teams in Div 2.
Looking forward to game but cannot see beyond a draw for home side.

Quite a few of our fans' first club was/is Swindon, so there'll be a few with split loyalties on Friday.

Can see this being tight so long as we cut out the mistakes, teams aren't having to work hard enough to score against us. If we don't gift them anything, reckon we've got a chance. Need Drissa to start, hopefully along with Bugiel and Gomes, all 3 helped turn the game at Port Vale.

You've definitely got a chance. We're unpredictable from one moment to the next from the home games i've seen.

Overall we appear to be more balanced away from home with 3 wins and 1 defeat so I do expect us to get something from the game but it won't be without a few scares. Look like scoring and conceding quite a bit so i've gone for a high scoring away win but honestly no result would shock me.

If it's Lancashire and Robertson at centre half I worry about us defensively. Fortunately we've some very good options going forward.

Will be watching on the tele.

Only given 800 odd tickets for this. Is that the usual allocation? I'm sure Brizzle got nearly 2000 when they were non league.

We're slowly getting our shit together going forward but with Conroy looking like he's out for the season, centre defence is a worry. We have some right old turds there.

We only received 808 too and sold out a week before the game. At least your game is on Sky for those who can't get tickets

Ever since Bristol Rovers, Vince has been against them being outnumbered at home so has offered away fans less tickets.

Rubs it in a bit I suppose if you're stood in the rain on a packed open terrace looking at a mostly empty North Stand, but I get the thinking behind it.

Takes the piss tbh, we're missing out on gate receipts but suppose saving face is more important to DV.

The North terrace should be given to away fans like it was last season, along with some seats in the adjacent stand. Not doing that makes us look like selfish twats. If we don't want to be outsung, then we should just sing fucking louder.

Looking at the signings we've made for this season, you'd have thought an extra £10,000 - £15,000 would have come in handy. But it has been embarrassing to see the away teams with more support than us on these big game occasions. However maybe we will half fill the north stand on Friday.
(hopefully fill it)

There will be a few of ours in the home sections but I very much doubt there will be any trouble. We've got Cheltenham away in a few weeks, so hoping to get tickets for that if they actually make general release.

Swindon fans, what did you make of Lloyd Jones in his loan spell with you?

A tabloid keeps linking us to him and says we might make a move in January.

He seemed OK. But we were so haphazard last season it's hard to judge. Those deemed useless last year - Norris, for example - has come on leaps and bounds this. Although this may be down to a drop in quality in L2.

I certainly wouldn't put you off him - got slung out for 'disciplinary' reasons, I.e. he got arrested.

I thought Swindon looked a pretty lively team going forwards at Meadow Lane a couple of weeks ago.
Forget his name, but the loanee from Palace looked very lively and FGR will have their hands full keeping him and Woolery at bay I suspect.

I thought he was a good player but like Dan says it was hard to judge in that team. Not sure I'd want him starting regularly in the championship just yet but he definitely looked a prospect.

Keshi Anderson. Won a penalty at Luton and scored at the weekend. Looks a good signing.

Woolery isn't a definite to start. May well be on the bench though it's difficult to predict how we'll line up at the moment with quite a few attacking options.

Robertson

Probably our most likely line up I'd say but far from certain.

In that fa cup match v Swindon us fgr fans got moved into a covered stand I hope our club follows suit if it hammers down. This needs to be the game Cooper turns it around.
Got my first season ticket that year, no Fleetwood anymore though :(

Should be a good advert for league 2, 2 teams that are scoring goals and conceding them as well , Swindon to win by the odd goal, but what the score will be is anyone's guess.
As for our fans, they will make more noise than the FOR hoards, leaving Vince cringing and crying into his vegan burger!!

Why? You didn't move Exeter fans when it hammered down.

I'm sure you will. Vince won't care too much about that though. Main priority will be he's on TV again, getting more exposure for his company and himself.

Why? You didn't move Exeter fans when it hammered down.

Firstly cos they moved us, whereas your away end is/was uncovered but you never did.

Also we like Swindon more, and quite a few of us will have friends and family in the away end.

Or us!

Although to be fair, apparently a few FGR fans tried to get the stewards to do something and they just flat refused to do so because the stadium manager/head steward/whatever they're called, hadn't given them permission.

Think we'll be in for a proper tonking Friday. Still abroad so priority now is finding a reliable dodgy stream so I can witness the full horror.

We won't get tonked.

Probably lose by the odd goal, can see it being 1-2 or 2-3. We're getting better and Swindon aren't as good as Exeter, who only beat us by 2.

Hope you're right, second half at the weekend certainly sounded promising. Still feels like Coops has no idea of his best starting eleven though and is casting around a bit to see what sticks.

I personally blame you for precarious position that FGR find themselves in at present time.
While you were in UK everything was fine and dandy but as soon as you flee abroad ........!!!!
Come back soon the team need you.

Are we getting better or are the teams we are facing not quite as good?

Bit of both. We have tightened up a bit, just 1 goal gifted by a mistake in our last 2 games. Think Lincoln are probably on a par with Wycombe and Colchester, but not as good as Exeter. Port Vale aren't great..

At least making opposition earn their goals is better then handing them to them on a plate. Do that and we wont get hammered.

Blimey, made it to half time without conceding and even played some decent stuff at times, but shaky start at the back and Swindon had the bigger threat when they did get up there I'd say. Traore having a blinder.
