Going to be a tough one this, the thought of us winning 3 league games in a row is scarey. We haven't been particularly good in either of the last two games but have found a way to win. Our forwards give us a chance nowerdays. We have goals and creativity up top and in midfield. Grimsby have a striker on form though in Bogle something Exeter really lacked last week.

Grimsby 2-1 Crewe (Bogle, Vose, Dagnall) 6,022 (211 railwaymen)

Remember our last trip to Blundell Park. A 4-0 win when Thordarson was still in charge. We thankfully came up against Tommy Forecast that day, what a legend he turned out to be.

Doubt it'll be anywhere near that easy this time. Grimsby look like a solid team and they will cause us problems I think. Reckon we'll see another Cheltenham type display and lose 2-0.

I'll be sure to start a home fans attendance thread after each game, don't you worry.

Hoping we can continue the good form, but Crewe look alright. Narrow win either way.

Well, it was a good run. We made it to mid-September without one of these silly match thread titles.

Our recent record v Crewe is terrible, I can't recall beating Crewe at home. We won at Crewe 2-1 under Alan Buckley in his second promotion season and lost the home game 1-0.

I'm going for 2-2. And think we'll sell 5,200 of our allocation.

Can't remember the year (I think Lennie Lawrence was manager) but I remember beating them 1 - 0 opening day then going to West Brom and beating them 1 - 0 to go joint top of the Championship after 2 games. Surprisingly enough, we didn't stay there!

We were top the day England beat Germany 5-1 must have been that season - we beat Barnsley 1-0 on that day.
I think we even lost at home to Crewe in the glorious McMenemy season.

It my daughter's 18th tomorrow, I've offered the choice of days out on Saturday, she's gone for Cleethorpes - Steels, beach and Blundell Park...where did I go wrong...?

Shall I make this my first game of the season? Even with us 6th (about 15 places higher than I expected at this stage), I'm really struggling to find the enthusiasm required. Still not over that home kit tbf, vile.

I think we're playing very well at the minute with just a mad last 20 minutes at Notts County being the only downer in our last 3 games. I reckon another win tomorrow but I don't expect it to be easy. Interested to see if Collins starts as Danny Andrews has had a couple of shaky moments recently. I wouldn't expect him to start at CB as Gowling has majorly upped his game.

Sounds like Lowe is doubtful which probably means a start for Saunders although I think I'd prefer Udoh to get a run out.

Lowe trained and travelled yesterday so likely an unchanged team.

I'm thinking back to our 6 years in non league and I'm trying to think of a worse 45 minutes than I've just watched and I can't think of one.
Seriously, we are that bad today.
Atrocious.

We're only one up though and you can't get any worst. Plus the fact we are masters at not taking our chances and throwing away a lead. I'd be very surprised if we win this.

Won't be long til the negative subs come on and were being bombarded.

Very poor today, our worst game so far. We defended well first half and saved a penalty but going forward we were non existent. Yet more crap defending for the goals. Bogle was trash and didn't look arsed. I think the officials got the big decisions right but the minor ones were all over the place. Tuton was called offside a lot but was well on for at least half of them. Crewe look decent, probably the best side I've seen so far.

Bogle was poor but I don't think it was not being arsed I just think Crewe had done their homework and shackled him all game and he never got a sniff.
Hats off to Crewe as well very impressive looked dangerous at every attack, think they will be top 7 for sure.

Crewe looked a good side. Passed it better than us and only needed punish a couple of errors to win. Thought the ref missed a nailed on in front of the Pontoon, but our final pass was very poor. Still work to do with this team...

Yeah that was a definate pen I was right behind It and the defender wrestled Tuton to the ground.
Even if that had made it 1 - 1 though I still think Crewe would have gone and got a winner anyway such was the game going.

It was hard for him today but I just don't think he looked up for the fight. Very uninterested in getting stuck in. I can't say that for the other players. We played poor but we didn't lack work rate.

Doesn't quite seem right opposition fans praising our team as the best they've played yet, as Doncaster did the other week as well. It's going to take some getting used to this having a team that's better than complete dog turd.

Also gutted Kiwomya picked up a nasty shoulder injury at the end, we will miss him if he's out for abit. 4 wins in a row in all comps and 4 clean sheets. I'm actually going to say it fair play to Davis. Should have down this route 2-3 years ago but this summer he got it right.

Didn't listen to the game today but listened to Hurst post match and comments on twitter and here seems we weren't at the races today. Oh well you win some you lose some. Not bad to get our first truly poor performance of the season so far, but shows we have quite a way to go before we challenge for the play-offs as some think.
Shame to do it in front of a big crowd as well, but then we normally do play poor when the home fans show up!
