This is one of those times when it becomes clearly evident Kev doesn’t attend games. We were the better team up until the first goal and the penalty was soft as fuck.

Grow up Kev.

Not sure we were the better team but we were competitive. Turning point was bringing selfish bone idle twat Thiam on and his sheer fuckwittery in giving the free kick away.

I actually thought you'd do a Burnley, keep a core group of players together and add three or four quality players. Suppose all it takes is one dodgy managerial appointment and it's hard to put back on track.

It was looking that way but after we stayed up we massively fucked it up. Spent big on obscure prospects rather than bringing in proven quality than we needed to push us on ala Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth for example. Things became poisonous, we hired some random German PE teacher as manager, Lossl, Lowe, Smith, Billing, Zanka, Van la Parra and Mooy have all gone and either not been replaced or been replaced with cheap shite.

I was fairly positive before the season started but a lot of this has surfaced since then. Amazing that the fans have stayed on board and there hasn't been more hostility to this mess but we're just desperate not to go down to League One now, so will fully get behind the Cowley's.

Swansea at home this Saturday.

Should be a decent game with good football on show from both teams. Hopefully Nagy is available and Kalas not so far away.

Fulham at Hillsborough for us, probably the toughest game of the season so far. Don't expect too many changes, maybe Lees back in if he's fit with Iorfa going into right back, the added height might help against Mitrovic, full backs need to be stopping those crosses. Probably see Murphy drop out for one of Lee or Luongo, can't see us going with a 2 man midfield containing Barry Bannan against these, think we'll get overrun, hopeful we can at least get a draw.

Westwood

Iorfa
Lees
Borner
Palmer

Hutchinson

Reach
Lee
Bannan
Harris

Fletcher

Subs- Dawson, Fox, Thorniley, Luongo, Murphy, Winnall, Nuhiu

Wednesday 1-1 Fulham
Lees 41'
Mitrovic 78'

Good win that. Alex Neil got his tactics spot on, Brentford had a lot of the ball but did nothing with it and we were comfortable throughout.

Onto Birmingham next week, I fancy our chances of coming home with all 3 points.

We're looking a good side, if we can somehow get a fully fit squad together I reckon we'll challenge this year.

As long as it's challenging the top 2 and not the play offs you'll be alright.

We’ve got Stoke at home this weekend, hopefully a home win but very difficult to know what result we’ll get at the moment.

We’ve massively improved this year at stopping shots from coming in, but the rate at which we’re conceding from them has shot up (in our games against Birmingham, Charlton, and Preston, we conceded 4 goals combined from 4 shots on target, and 8 shots total).

At the same time we’re looking a lot less potent up front without Maupay.

I think we’ve deserved more than the performances have produced so far, but we need to improve fast if we want to get a play off challenge in again this season.

Same team again as last week I hope:

Raya

Dalsgaard Jansson Jeanvier

Canos Norgaard Jensen Henry

Mbeumo Watkins Benrahma

Seems the same story with Brentford every season, play well and create plenty of chances but don't have the points on the board they probably should.

Pretty much, then we turn it around in the second half of the season, have Top 4 form, but finish just outside the play offs. Sell our best players. Need to gel the side together again. Struggle early in the season with results not matching performances. Rinse. Repeat.

One year we’ll have a good start to the season. Maybe.

To be fair to us, we have 6-7 new players in the starting XI, it was always going to take a little time to gel, results wise we’re not too far behind what you’d expect, and performance wise we’re well ahead of what we should be, especially as we haven’t had a striker yet.

If anyone wants to win money on something with long odds, lump on Barnsley to beat us 1-0 on saturday. It’s been the story of the last 20 years.

Well you're not going to be playing shite this time round. Once every 9 POs. So you've got a long time till the next one. Top two or bottle.

Birmingham away, can't be any worse than last year, wouldn't be unhappy with a point.

Pearo should be back, i'd put Gallagher back in too so he can pick out Barkhuizen on the counter, don't think he had much to work with against Brentford.

Rudd
Fisher, Bauer, Davies, Rafferty
Pearson, Gallagher
Bodin, Johnson, Maguire
Barkhuizen

That wold mean not selling your best players, which isn't going to happen.

We have Millwall away on Saturday.

We haven't won here in about 9 attempts so I am not that confident we'll come away with the win. We played so well in the first half against Luton and if we play like that, then we'll win.

However if we play like we did in the second half we'll lose.

No new injury worries but it will be interesting to see if Lumley gets dropped as he made another clanger against Luton.

I think it'll be a score draw as we cannot keep a clean sheet and big Matt Smith has to score against us.

We'll get twatted by Leeds in the early KO. Had them in the last man standing at work so they'll probably screw me now. They'll have a point to prove/revenge for pissing on their seasons work all in one night last year.

3-0.

Hull at home for us today. Sneaky big game in the context of our season I think. They haven’t had the best start and the sort of side who seem to be likely to be in and around the same positions as us this season I.e. the lower reaches of the table. At home it’s the sort of game that if you have aspirations of staying up with any degree of comfort that you should be looking to get 3 points from by beating those around you.

We are learning rapidly at this level though that there are no easy games and you need to be switched on for the full 90 minutes and every mistake will be punished.

Really could do with tightening up at the back, far too leaky at the moment. We are really missing a proper protecting defensive midfield holding player at the moment and it’s exposing some of our defensive frailty that for the most part of last season where well covered. Although I’m not necessarily his biggest fan because he isn’t that type Butterfield was a big miss last week as at least he does some of the work a proper holding player does. For that reason he should come back in in my view, preferably for Brown who was shockingly lazy. I do wonder what Luke Berry has to do to get a look in that position though, not even on the bench of late albeit I think he may have had a slight knock.

Like to see us play a proper left footer at left back as well. Bree has done ok there but is clearly not that comfortable and it affects a lot of our play because he can’t beat his man to the line and cross on his left, so hopefully either Potts or Galloway are available with Bree ok to slide over to the right to replace Bolton who had a very tough game last week.

Massively important we win our home games this season as on the road it’s going to be a struggle so today’s pretty big for us.

Unchanged from last week. Crazy decision for me but might work out at home rather than away from home.

Brown very lucky to keep his place, simply has to show up today.

Didn’t think Hull were that good to be frank but still beat us 3-0 and with some comfort which goes without saying is not a good sign.

Sort of confirmed what I thought going into the season, we’ll go down but still try to play our football doing it.

Awful performance from us today, no energy, no effort and looked like the players have given up on the season already.

Very negative to say we will go down. Kneejerk to a slapping i hope. We knew it would be tough and to be honest i dont think its been as tough as i expected, as we havent been outclassed throughout a whole game yet. The difference in ruthlessness is stark tho.

Hull were no better but got or made the breaks when needed and produced a classic away performance. I saw a loss on the cards early second half but expected it to be a breakaway single goal.

We do need to solidify tho. Brown too lighweight for the system and there's not enough support for the cetre halves and we continually get caught down our right with Bolton playing.

Weve got enough about us to stay up and or make a good fight of it so long as we dont lose confidence and belief. It was always gonna be tough.
