The golden age of the Serie A striker*.

Send me a list of your top 50 and we can get it on.

*general goal scoring maestros will be considered but don't take the Michele and nominate run of the mill midfielders you c***.

Actually no. If the player is not described as a striker on trusted reference site wikipedia then said player will not be included.

Great response in the end. 10 lists in total with over 70 players nominated. Tie break will be amount of lists a player appears on if need be. Will post more in depth biographies as we progress.

Joint 69th we have three players who ranked 50 on one list.

Marco Ferrante

Nwankwo Kanu

Karl-Heinz Riedle

68th - 49th on one list

Alessandro Melli

Joint 67th -
48th place on 1 list.

Carmine Esposito

Cristiano Doni

In 66th place we have Dennis Bergkamp who made one list. He signed for Inter in February 1993 for £7.1 million. He spent one and a half seasons there before moving on to Arsenal in 1995.

Here's a fan made video with awful music showing all 11 of his Serie A goals (plus the rest of his 30 while there in all competitions).

All on one list.

65th - Aldo Serena

64th - Marco Negri

63rd - Andrea Carnevale

62nd - Paolo Poggi

61st - Benito Carbone

That has to be piez. Negri is a good shout though. Probably best remembered for scoring shitloads at Rangers, he made up for this by playing for some nice clubs too.

None of mine have been revealed yet. I do feel bad about forgetting Riedle though. Bergkamp and Kanu are great but neither did much in Italy really.

I could never vote for Negri, due to his connections to Scottish fascists and the idea of voting for Italians called Benito still makes me a bit uncomfortable too...
