We have had two good performances and two poor ones, think that's exactly the same as you?

As mentioned above if you can get points when you don't play well (and we have now got 4/6) it's a good sign.

As for Pontoonlew saying it's a bit embarrassing, yeah it's terrible we couldn't beat plucky underdogs Town, but am sure we can get over it!

Not half as bad as Lincoln’s overall performance. Must be a bit embarrassing after all the hype to see you play so badly and be gifted a pen.

Why are you so butthurt?

Yes Grimsby deserves to win and probably by a couple, but you drew 1-1 lad. Much worse things can happen than only drawing 1-1 in a football match. Let it go mate, for your sake and ours.

A lot of our fans are going mental because of the performance and the fact we held Lincoln to a draw, way OTT. On the flip side, a lot of the Lincoln lot are being quite condescending, basically disregarding the result because ‘it’s a derby’ and we raised our game because it was Lincoln. Load of tosh but there we go.

Agree, you were just the better team. I think ‘held Lincoln to draw’ doesn’t do you justice. By the sounds of your previous performances you did raise your game in comparison.

You could be right about us raising our game but Jolley is sending out a different team each game depending on the opposition. Might make it difficult to get consistent performances and he will get it wrong sometimes. If he has the players intelligent enough to buy into it and also adapt then it could go very well. If they can’t then it could go horribly badly but the fact that he is willing to change the team or the formation would indicate he has not got plan A and nothing else so hopefully we are progressing in the right way. I don’t think personally we will be more than mid table this season, but if we see that he is trying do do something and build for the future then most of the fans will be behind him.

Last year slade kept telling us he was building for the future. He did that by playing one way, selling anyone creative and having a team feb onwards full of loanees. He was a charlatan that should never be allowed to manage again.

Jolley could be a false dawn for us but at the moment the fans are buying into him and after last season please forgive one or two for being a little over enthusiastic!!

Not often I disagree with Codalmighty, but interested in hearing what the two sets of support make of this...

...yeah, the Cowleys' (plural) touchline antics are wholly irksome but it's a whimsically ideological view to expect us to pass our way out the division.

Not a lot tbh. I am very glad they are managers. Let's move on eh? You guys can buy the commerative DVD and we'll get a nice banner ready for January.

Yeah, most of the things in there have been done to death on here, The Fish and Vital. I guess I just found it quite strange that that writer would go to the length of saying they'd rather go down passing than up hoofing. Obviously didn't get the memo on the new Lincoln style either.

Yeah definitely playing more football this season but everyone lumps it forward down here sometimes, you've got to and everyone at least 2/3 players well over 6 foot 2.
My mantra is results end of, I'm quite happy to sacrifice style over substance if it means we go up.
Yes do they do moan but are a million miles from the undisputed kings of it Evans and Raynor who seem to have upset Lee Bowyer...

We've been direct under the DC but it's been done in a way that's been very organised, high energy, high press, attacking, scoring lots of goals overall (56% of our goals in 2016/17 came from set pieces!), being solid defensively and watching a squad who'd run through brick walls for the Manager and Club, so it's been an enjoyable brand of it rather than complete route one, aimless punts, kicking and chasing with a squad who weren't suited to it.

We've had very few boring games over the last couple of seasons, that's for sure.

In an ideal world, you want sexy football and results. Me personally, I turn up to watch Lincoln win, not play good football. If the latter happens with a win, great, if not, I'm not fussed. We played what you'd class as good football under Tilson and lost most games. Certainly wasn't leaving games pleased with the football around that time!

I've only ever walked away from a Lincoln game once having lost but been pleased with the football and that was at SB against MK Dons in '06. Good game, that. Top, top game.

Simplistic black and white, good vs evil bollocks (i.e. Grimsby play lovely, passing football and never feign injury or dive while Lincoln are long ball merchants who cheat their way to victories). Pretty insulting really, and I'd expect better from CA which I often take the time to read.

i'd have taken the Cowley's as managers in a heartbeat before we appointed Slade or even Jolley but I must say that at the minute I'm very satisfied with MJ at this level and wouldn't swap him for them now.

Really is a bit stupid though that article to say they'd rather see us relegated than play Lincoln style football. It may not be pretty but they've shown over the last couple of seasons that it does get results and I'm sure most football fans want to see their team winning however they play the game.

As God's Gift says. a poor CA article really and I'm quite surprised they've published such rubbish.
