Agreed.

To be fair Flitcroft does have a bit of a hard on for Lincoln in comparison to other teams, but the flip side is the media and the fans are looking for anything to grab on too.

It’s a strange one.

I think maybe as they’ve not beaten us in a decade, like other of our rivals in a competitive game, we got the game against Liverpool etc.

I think the other factor is that after chesterfield we’ve got Notts county, after Grimsby I guess it’s us, so we’re probably a level more important to them than they are to us. Some of the posts on there are well funny, on stagsnet we barely care lol

All managers talk rubbish especially post match, naturally they have an inherent bias built in plus they are restricted what they can actually say to the media. At Notts Derry, Nolan, Kewell all prime examples

Even the greats such as Sir Alex, Mr Wenger and my man Pep talk trash often. No idea why fans get so hung up and upset with what they say.

Hope we are just trying to play mind games with the match preview on the official site but it says that all our midfield are doubts. Bishop missed Tuesday through illness anyway but it says he’s not yet recovered, Mellis went off injured in the first half Tuesday and it says Elsnik took a knock aswell.

I’m sure all will play... Maybe not Mellis mind but Khan should be back now after training this week

Would play Elsnik if Mellis injured. Wouldn’t play khan against the physicality of Lincoln they’ll have him for dinner.

Game could go either way- we can be troubled by pace in attack however we also have a superb attacking intent (particularly the Toffolo/Andrade partnership) which is pretty nippy too.

Expect the break to ensure we have a full first 11 out- maybe rusty, maybe not but we haven't played 4 games in 11 days and that should help us out.

Sold out game and first main stand display of the season- has the makings of a very good match. I'll be amazed if both teams end up with 11 on the pitch by the end of the game though. There is a lot of tension for this one (which is odd as you're not Grimsby!) maybe stoked up by media and, heaven forbid, the managers.

You guys have something big for us, we don’t get it. Lincoln at home doesn’t excite the locals - we’ve got county and chesterfield to worry about, well not chesterfield.

A little bit of rivalry started when you had Evans as manager- the rivalry this season is league position based not geography. You are rivals for promotion and that always adds a little extra when you are as geographically close to us as Grimsby is.

Whereas the Notts County game earlier in the season, as they were doing so badly, was a bit of damp squid.

Whilst I don't disagree we don't have a traditional rivalry, you've sold out the away end (aside from the 200 not on sale for segregation!) and we've sold out the home end.

I still cannot get over reading the Lincoln forum, the vitriol on there in comparison to the light banter at best on Stagsnet has genuinely surprised me. I don’t know what we did to upset them so much.

Anyway the closer we get to the match the more I think we will lose, our record against Lincoln is very good in all competitions and I think it’s finally time for them to get one over us.

We sold out the 4100 county gave us, the 2600 chesterfield gave us and whatever’s you’ve given us. We travel in daft numbers given our home support.

Local games particularly I've noticed a large following which is great for LCFC (income wise) and I'm fairly certain we'll fill the North Stand for the return leg.

I think only 3 clubs filled County away stand last season- you, us and Coventry.

Stags half time/Lincoln full time 33/1. Tenner on that.

The Mansfield game is a weird one really because they're actually our closest game, yet not deemed a derby.

I think it's Mansfield, County, Scunthorpe, Boston, Grimsby, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Hull in terms of locality but not in terms of importance.

The only reason there's been an edge down the years is off the pitch - Holdsworth, Evans and now with Flitcroft being a bit of a knob (not entirely sure we'd ever come up against him before as a manager so I don't know what his problem is). Of course, now throw in the league positions and both going for automatics and it adds a little bit more to it.

I've never really understood that. There can't be too many Clubs who take so many to local away games given the home support numbers.

Sad, probably. Out The house at bloody 5.50 this morning! Damn northern rail!.

We would have easily taken another 500 or so this game, but obviously I know you don’t bring more than your allocation when you come to us

Oldham are another one that’s the same.

First half was pretty much even, Mansfield maybe tested the goalkeeper more but it was very tight. The second half was similar but Lincoln did pressure a lot more and had quite a few set-pieces but just did not do anything with them.

The game was completely devoid of any sort of quality other than the goals, CJ Hamlition did not get the ball to his feet on the wing all game and nor did anybody else really and quite frankly it was a poor second half from Mansfield. I would give Lincoln credit for stopping us being able to pass it around.

We had a few moments of brilliant defending but every time that happened was due to a sloppy mistake from one of our own players (Mellis had a shocker bar the goal) I don't think today was a fair reflection of how good both teams are.

So not much in it really but Lincoln did knock on the door more, but getting a late goal like that for a point with a poor performance is what a good team does.

13 (Thirteen) Games unbeaten away.

Bit gutting to concede that late and it feels like a loss really. Normally when we get in those positions we're very good at seeing the game out. Cracking game though. Personally thought we edged the game and perhaps deserved the full three points, but full credit to Mansfield for battling until the death considering their run of games.

Both teams pretty much cancelled each other out and when the opportunities arrived neither team quite had the necessary quality to make something happen. First half was very even, but second half we really dominant. Mansfield seemed to run out of ideas and created very little until the goal, though defended very well. Despite having a lot of the ball and getting the ball into good positions we lacked quality with the final ball/finish (I'm looking at Anderson and Akinde).

One of the things I was looking at going into the game today was how Walker compared to Akinde and to be honest I thought both looked very average (I am a big fan of Akinde normally).

Clearly both teams will be the promotion push, but currently feels like we're missing something. Unfortunately for us MK are in incredible form and I have a bad feeling we may struggle to keep up.

Fair write up. We got into plenty of really threatening positions but our final ball was really poor particularly from Harry Anderson.

We're just not allowed to beat Mansfield at home!

A game of two halves for me, gutting to let a late equaliser in as it looked like we had sneaked the late winner.

Made me feel a lot better to see that Stevenage not only equalised against the Dons late, but then managed to win it 3-2 at the death to put us back top of the league.

I think had Lincoln edged out the game 1-0 I wouldn’t have complained, whereas I think we just edged the first half after a slow start, Lincoln were the better side in the 2nd.

There was little between the teams and before Lincoln’s fortunate goal we defended well, Preston would be man of the match, whoever that lad down the wing against him was didn’t appear out of Preston’s pocket and had a dreadful touch on the few occasions he got away from him.

I guess after Lincoln’s equaliser at field mill last season it was deserved.

Something like 10 games against Lincoln and a decade since we’ve lost in a competitive match to them.

Can someone translate this or at least clean it up?

Until this season , a season ticket holder for just over 30 years, think that qualifies lol. Tbh not sure you are in a position to be offering advice from sunny Spain. I bet you miss watching live football, I certainly do this season  even with the shower of shite on display currently.

Anyway you should be celebrating a great point at Sincil Bank shouldn’t rather obsessing over Notts and me
