Funny how often one comes with the other.
A concept I hear is completely alien to you!!

(sorry Bilo, but sometimes the ball just sits up perfectly and you have to smash it)

A week. ;)

Spurs fans better start fretting. Think Poch will be your #1 target.

As Son of Cod has hinted, Klopp is a better fit.

United always have loads of money to buy "complete" players but are impatient for success. Poch needs time to develop young, often English, players and make them better.

Klopp has now shown that he knows how to use the shedloads of money he has finally been given to buy better players than Mourinho could.

Yep, the fervent manner in which Tommy Werner whipped out his chequebook to splash a mere £130m on VVD and Alisson was indeed burning football passion personified.

Remember guys...

We are Liverpool. This means more.

Apologies to everyone but Rafa would be perfect.
You type with a pinch of salt (I think) and it probably won't happen but yes, Rafa would be a very good stop-gap for United. He's a good cup comp manager which is basically what is needed here. Just not get humbled by us (please do) and not get humiliated by a lower-league side in the Cup (like Reading).

All the talk in France has been how bad this news is for PSG. A hungry manager who actually wants to play football is much more threatening in our progressing to the quarters than Mourinho's catenaccio which ultimately fails once United concede.

Personnally reckon it'll be an inside job (Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Solskjaer) and not go for a big name just yet. Mourinho needs to take a good look at himself and rediscover himself as a manager. Maybe manage lesser sides like Benitez (no offence to my barcodes mates).

I think Mourinho's problem is that he expects every player to be a hard arse who can accept intense criticism and use it to push themselves to levels that they never thought they'd get to. He started off in an era where disciplinarians excelled. Early noughties had Fergie still riding high, Capello excelling, Lippi winning the World Cup etc. Moving to Chelsea was a dream job for him really because the likes of Terry, Lampard and Drogba clearly led that changing room. Player power was through them and they were all on board with Jose's way.

Even at Inter, he had an ageing squad full of players as professional as they come. The likes of Zanetti, Cambiasso, Samuel, Cordoba, Milito etc. All names that you'd associate with hard arsed, yet very successful Italian sides. Which two players didn't make the grade at Jose's Inter? Balotelli and Arnautovic. That says it all.

I read a lot about how Jose's way of playing hasn't evolved. I think that's nonsense. Give him a squad of players on board with his way and he'd have them right at the pinnacle in my opinion. It might not be pretty, but it's no coincidence that he has such a good record in the latter stages of cup competitions. When all of the players are fully tuned in, his way works.

This Man Utd squad was not the one. Looking within that squad, very few have a character that you could see working with Mourinho. Pogba is one of the newer breed of egocentric plonkers that plague the upper regions of football. A talented plonker, but a plonker all the same signified by the way in which he originally left United under Fergie. So yeah, Mourinho coming in throwing his weight about was only ever going to end one way.

He needs to go back over to Italy I think. I think the likes of Juventus and Inter are the ideal clubs for him. That Juventus side has a character that I think would embrace Mourinho if Allegri ever decided to move on.

The picture of Pogba that swamped social media was imo everything that is wrong with today's game and rather than the 'tilted hat' he thought it would prove,it was simply a pointer
towards his distinct lack of any discernible class.

Yeah ,I've seen that tossed around as an excuse by Adidas to exonerate their client .

So ,this marketing campaign suddenly thrown into the mix 30 mins after the news on the managers dismissal couldn't have been shelved when the realization it would be viewed as improper and ill timed became apparent ? Seriously its disingenuous at best and a glove off the right hand of fucking brazen !

I think you are reading too much into it - if anyone is being sneaky here it is the sponsor, knowing that people will get their knickers in a twist over a perceived slight towards Mourinho from Pogba. They know what they are doing.

Anyway, our website announced Solskjaer as the interim manager (again, before deleting the page) - this will be interesting.

Both brazen and disingenuous were directed at the sponsor mate ,Pogba doesn't strike me as an individual blessed with the intelligence to be that duplicitous.

I don't believe someone at adidas saw the news and decided to get that tweet made and sent out.

More likely it was put into a set-it-and-forget-it scheduler (Hootsuite, Buffer etc) by whoever adidas have run their social media well before (talking a matter of days or even weeks) the news broke and deleted as soon as they realised the brouhaha caused after it had gone out.

Well, it would never happen but I did post it in all seriousness. I agree with your post in general.

I was hoping they'd give it to Giggs.

Well, Solskjaer seems slightly odd, on the face of it, but I don't think he can be much worse. He's too green to face any thought / pressure of trying to secure the job full time. 6 months to present a friendly face to the squad and promote a freer style of play. As long as he can keep their heads above West Ham, Everton, Wolves, Watford etc and score a few goals doing it, he can't go far wrong surely.

Well guess they wanted an old favourite to take over in the short term..

And Steve Bruce /Mark Hughes probably didn't want to take over so soon after losing their own jobs .

Manchester United just writing this season off then? Stupid decision that will only end in tears.

The problem for United is that their players are still shit.

It’ll be about 6-1 on aggregate.

I think the club is already in tears so not much to lose here.

De Gea, Shaw, Herrera, Mata, Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial and Sanchez are not shit players. That's why Mou got booted I reckon; he should have done much, mucher better with that type of squad.

So Solskjaer then. Reckon the players will go in the tie against us with a point to prove personally and that it's far from a done deal. Really can't wait for the game now (especially if I can get tickets for Old Trafford).

They’re certainly not good enough to be playing for Manchester United either,
De Gea aside and perhaps Martial.

Lukaku and Rashford are mid-prem players at best.

Pogba possibly most overrated player to have lived, Mata’s best days are behind him and Sanchez has not been the player he once was for a couple of years now.

United will be mauled over two legs.

Completely puzzled with the Solksjaer decision. He was useless at Cardiff, and will not command respect from the players. Friendly face for the fans, but wrong decision, even though it’s only temporarily .

Never thought I'd see the day when Manchester United made a 'what the hell, fuck it' appointment - caretaker or otherwise.
