Seems to be growing speculation from major news outlets that a deal has been done for Man Utd to bring in Jose Mourinho as their new manager. If thats true, it means that despite Louis Van Gaal winning the FA Cup with them this season, he will be sacked with a year left on his contract.

So yeah, if this comes to fruition, let the fireworks commence. With Klopp, Mourinho, Guardiola, Wenger and Conte all in the league all managing teams that will hope to be in title contention, next season looks like it'll be a cracker.

As good as confirmed according to the BBC. Not sure it's a good decision myself. If they wanted Mourinho surely it would have made more sense to have done this back when Rudolph walked. Shame as I would have preferred them to have stayed with Van Gaal but they clearly realised top 4 wasn't guaranteed under him, never mind title challenges.

It's going to be an interesting season with him back, Klopp and Guardiola. And after his recent Chelsea debacle, the miserable one will feel he has something to prove.

Anyway, it's good to know I can dislike the team and the manager. They're certainly well suited.

There goes the theory about the FA Cup saving his job then.

I'm excited.

He's probably the best option out there at the moment, and if he has money to spend then he's your man to succeed with it. It's hardly a surprise that LVG isn't being kept on, the league campaign and the European one have been disappointing and the FA Cup win as good as it is isn't enough to convince the majority. I also get the feeling that Jose has something to prove this time after his capitulation at Chelsea this season, could be a cracking title race next season.

The thing is, we all know that Mourinho won't be their manager in 4 years time. The guy simply doesn't do long term. So what they have done here is accept they're going to be in a similar position to what they were when Rudolph left but put themselves in a good position in the mean time to get back up there and maybe even put in some title challenges. They've basically given up on this long term plan thing they spouted when they appointed Moyes.

They need 5 players to be realistically challenging I feel.

CB - ?
CM - ?
RW - ?
CAM - ?
FWD - Ibra?
Depay, Mata, Januzaj, Rojo and probably Carrick on the way out.

The right decision but atrocious timing for this to come out - I will miss LVG's interviews.

I can see Jose staying a lot longer than most people predict.

Word is Jose's people have leaked this information after the game. Not very classy.

Nothing to be bitter about mate, it'll last three or four years max though; the first to get his team in and sorted out, the second to kick on and push for a title, and possibly into the third if running well, then the players will get drained and switch off, then down we go. ;)

Well that depends on whether we make another Moyes type of appointment post-Jose or someone of a higher calibre is involved, doesn't it?

That's just the way modern football seems to be for a lot of managers and clubs, not just Jose.

Well the board don't look to be great at making appointments so yes we'll see on that. Its going to be a fun ride with Pep, Jose and Klopp in the league though thats for sure.

The disappointment of the Liverpool fans makes this much better. Tell us your concerns, lads.
